Had similar issues a few years ago when our normal carrier left. The diverse mail carriers changed frequently and mostly delivered mail in pairs, two peeps in vehicle. I was getting everyone’s mail when we would get mail and sometimes packages and mail would be left in a flower planter at the end of the driveway, across the road from mail box. Had a guy that lived on route five call me and tell me he found one of our packages laying in the highway. It was frustrating for awhile. Finally got a carrier that does a good job.

Our new diverse set of Amazon delivery drivers are just as bad now.

Just sneakin' around....
The one that gets me lately is FedEx Ground. I keep tabs on the expected delivery so I know when to look for it. Status says "On truck Out for Delivery between 11 and 2pm". I wait. See the truck go past the house. No delivery, still waiting. 5:30pm comes, new updated status, "We attempted to deliver your package. Rescheduled for..."

Bull. They never attempted nuttin. Happened twice in the last 2 deliveries. Got a few more coming this week.......

I've said more than once here that my main delivery problems are from FedEx. So much so that when I order something that uses them (Yes, I'm talking Bass Pro/Cabela's) that I specify delivery by other than FedEx. I had one order go back and forth between Hagerstown, Ohio and Upper Marlboro so many times it got lost. I then got a replacement order and three weeks later the original finally showed up. It was shirts not shotgun shells or decoys so there is that.

Saturday, the USPS carrier was very generous.... not only did I get my mail, but 4 neighbors too, including addressed to people on an adjoining street. Well, like an episode of Seinfeld, I happily delivered the mail, (but without opening it first) and went on my way.

Today, I stopped by the local office and asked to speak with a manager. "Why you need da managah" said the person behind the counter... I repeated my request again, and within oh, 5-10 minutes a young woman came out and axed what the problem (is).

I explained what happened Saturday. She axed how I spelled my streets name, which only has 4 letters. ..... She axed if I delivered the mail..... I said yes, she said "okay" like (so whats the problem?).

Then this.... "we had some people call out and the other drivers dont know the streets names and addresses. "..... I said, well, the information is on the envelopes.

She rolled her eyes.

Well, I guess my mail wont be delivered for a while. Maybe my neighbors will deliver it to me.
Hence the urgent need for a raise for ALL government employees. They have rigorously been tested, certified, trained, and we encourage the highest levels of proficiency. Giving them a raise would make us the WORLD standard for quality & excellence.

I had an Amazon same day delivery on Saturday. Ordered a multimeter with dc amperage ability to work on trolling motors Saturday morning. Nice guy in a private car delivered it about 8:30pm. Told me he lives in Dunkirk and he had a few more deliveries in the area. I was impressed. It only cost $9.99 for same day delivery.

That must be it..the reason why USPS is operating a massive check theft and washing ring that is protected at the highest management levels. Because they are undercompensated.

I had a large heavy box delivered by Fedex to my house. Correct house # but on Budds Creek Rd. about 2 miles away. I tried calling Fedex with no human answering for over 15 minutes. The last name was a common one in St. Mary's County. But of course no one has a land line anymore so I couldn't call the addressee. Decided to deliver it myself, and when I got to the long dirt road with several No Trespassing, and other not so friendly signs I left it at the mailbox and went home. Later that night I googled the company's return address, and I think it was a very expensive 3D printer. I should have kept it and let Fedex deal with their mistakes.

It ain't just USPS, I got a UPS package for someone about 9 miles away, street name no where near similar and address no where near similar. Was on hold for an hour then they asked me to deliver it. I told them I'll throw it out my door in the yard, if it's there tomorrow it's going in the trash.
UPS delivers to USPS (as do the other carriers). I'm not sure what the cut-off is for door-to-door delivery instead of the nearest USPS facility, but there does seem to be a size criteria. The vast majority of stuff I buy online I have to pick up at the post office.

UPS was the worst for that. Mrs. BOP and I literally watch a brown truck drive onto our street in Ventura county (about 2004) that was literally only several car lengths long - maybe 10. Our two-story building with a dozen apartments was the only building on the street. The brown truck backed up, and left. A day or so later, we received a notice that "We attempted to deliver....and could you come up to Los Angeles to pick it up?"

We went round and round for a week before they finally delivered it. I forget how high on the food chain we had to go, but I remember telling one high-level dudette that my BIL, who worked for UPS refused to ship anything with them - and that's literally true.

In fact, I used to insult Fedex by asking them "What, are you UPS now?" That normally got a response, but yeah, it's a shame.

You need establish a rapport with your driver ..... like on hot days you need to be in the driveway with a cold bottle of water to give the driver, tell them how hard their job is (it is) then ask how they are doing. The next time the driver sees your name on a box they will stop by with a smile.

We hardly ever get the same FedEx driver twice. Some days there will be three different FedEx trucks here. Then we get to play the "where on the compound did the FedEx idjit put the package?" game. The big "Shipping and Receiving"signs we installed were clearly a waste of money.

I spoke to my Amazon lady and she said since starting the job 2 months prior she had lost 28 lbs! That tells you how much they move in a day wow. It's not a job for a lazy person by any means. Their biggest beef is with people not having a legible address on their mailbox or home.
