Oh Please.... :drama:

If you weren't shooting dope or queer, the chance of getting aids was slim to none.

My point is that it was still here, regardless if you were a junkie or gay it was still prevelant in the US, you could get it if you humped a straight chick who humped a bi man or shared a needle with someone who was infected. Remember it was the 70s, you stop at a traffic light, wink at someone and pull over :smoochy:

My point is Aids was NOT prevalent in the US during the 70's, 80's 90's or even the current decade.
Queer men are a small segment of the population, a percentage of them are HIV positive. It was NEVER an epidemic or even "prevalent" in this country, just hyped by the media to appear so.

Current WHO stats put HIV infections here at around 1.5- 2 million. That's more than died here during the 1918 Influenza pandemic. It just takes longer to eventually kill you.

These statistics include people living with HIV, not those who have already died.

At the end of 2003, an estimated 1,039,000 to 1,185,000 persons in the United States were living with HIV/AIDS, with 24-27% undiagnosed and unaware of their HIV infection.
With a population of 303,824,646 (July 2008 est.) that's less than 0.3%

Sounds like you're homophobic.
Try giving blood, what do they ask you? Have you had sex with a man who slept with another man or with someone who slept with a man who slept with another man? Have you shared or used dirty needles to inject drugs? Nah, the American Red Cross doesn't feel AIDS is prevalant, not at all:sarcasm:

There is a channel called LOGO, its a pro gay and lesbian channel, if it was such a small population why would there be a channel? Remember Queer Eye For The Staright Guy I counted at least 5 of them on that show and lord knows how many more of them behind the scenes. Gay marriages on the east coast and on the west coast.... is all over.

Sounds like you're full of :bs: and enjoy using meaningless trendy terms.

What did I say that gave you the impression I live in fear of homosexuals?
Do you think I cower in the basement so they don't hit me with a purse?

I don't like okra, I won't eat okra. Does that mean I'm okraphobic :lmao:

So the population increased in 5 years but HIV infections did not?

AIDS was the leading cause of death among 25-44 year olds in the US in the mid-90s. Deaths have gone down thanks to better anti-retroviral therapies, but the infection rate has not.

Infection rates have steadily risen among heterosexuals because it's still viewed in this country as a "gay" disease (since that population is where it established itself here). Worldwide the infection/mortality rate is pretty evenly split between men and women.

As with any pandemic myths and misinformation are contributing to the spread. Bubonic Plague anyone?

because you refer to homosexual men as queers and you are in denial about the rate of AIDS in the US. In 2003 the aids population hit 1 million.
You're boring, I'm done. I think you just like to piss people off.
Its friday and you won't bring me down.
