Dead animals in the pool

All I ever get are bugs, frogs and an occassional mouse. I'd cry if I found a dead bunny in my pool. :bawl:

And Speedy, I opened my skimmer one morning to find a snake. That freaked me out big time. :jameo: :jameo: :jameo: I don't know who was more afraid of whom...him or me.
Well....let me tell you something, if I had a pool, and found a snake, the pool would become the biggest flower pot in the neighborhood. Damn snakes.

Mine's a 20 x 40 inground. I think that could make it the biggest flower pot in the county.

That happened to me last year. Beautiful morning, thought I'd stroll up to the pool with my coffee and check out the plants...walked up the last step and :yikes:

Does anyone know if there are any existing methods to keep critters from drowning in my pool overnight? I know a cover would work but not doing that everyday. This morning it was Peter Rabbit, yesterday Morocco Mole and the day before its was a dumb azz squirrel. And no, life jackets provided pool side won't work either. :lmao: Thanks all. I think this is post 1000 for me. Do I get a prize? :howdy:

Joking aside, sounds like they are looking for water to drink.
One solution is to provide a way out for the non swimmimg critters.

Get a plastic/foam swimming tube...and lay it over the edge into the pool. Acts like a plank and provides a surface they can grip onto...
Just a thought.....

Luckily my husband was the one that found the snake last year, not me!

We get hundreds of frogs, and have had a few bunnies. :bawl: We also found a little tiny baby turtle one year.

Just wait until you find a live snake in the pool. :jameo:

*LOL* My parents have an inground pool and we found two baby snakes in there once just swimming along. That was a sight indeed. :jameo: Other than that, it's usually just frogs and the occasional mouse.

Yes! :bawl:

I love bunnies. I have so many around the house people always ask me if I've been too busy to take my Easter stuff down.

Just leave a box of Trix away from the pool. I'm not 100% sure if this works for bunnies, but it works for rabbits.

Looks to me like ya'lls pools are failing the standard animal testing. I wouldn't swim in that water if I were you.

My neighbor bought about 30 of those pink flamingoes with the wings that go around, like a whirly-gig for his mole problem. It worked for him.
He told me the vibration from the flamingoes chases them away. Go figure.

It did look kinda funny when they were all out there, spinning away.

:lmao: That is hilarious! Maybe I should try that.

Sounds like your pool is the animal equivalent to the Solomon's bridge for suicide jumpers.

In My Opinion
every night before you go to bed.
pee in the pool. They will smell it, not like it and go to your neighbors pool.

for really bad infestations, it might be required to poop in the pool and leave some floaters. this means eating high fiber foods 24 hours before the pooping.
