I admire her. She went on her own terms.

I agree. I had heard that she was thinking about holding off on doing it but decided to go ahead with it on the scheduled date. I wish we all had that choice. My husband and I were talking about how it's humane to put a pet out of their misery but murder to put a human (or yourself) out of theirs.

So true Rarebreed. I respect her decision, but had not thought of the comparison to putting animals to sleep. Interesting.

May she rest in peace. She did it her way! I've always said we are more humane to our pets than our elderly/sick. We don't want our pets to suffer, but it's expected to let our loved ones suffer. So not fair.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all knew EXACTLY when we were going to go? How many people have said "if I could just have 5 more minutes with XZY to say goodbye." She had her last goodbye. Sad, but I'm glad she was in charge of her own exit.
