Dinner

We're normal. I'm not sure about the rest of the world though.
I'm usually abnormal, too. But I was up, out and about this weekend getting crap done. Except when I realized on my way to work this morning, I forgot to go shopping for my lunches this week. Maybe I should have stayed home in my jammies 1 out of the 3 days I had off.

Made a mess of deep fried shrimp. Batter was a little too thin,, but still good. Stinks that I was doing it in the dark. Sun sets too soon now.

In the beginning, my schedule was something like get up, drink coffee, read the internet, putter around the house, take a nap, watch the news, read the obituaries, think about putting clothes on

That's me exactly :roflmao:. I've even started scheduling appointments for afternoons so I can get up when I feel like it. I don't sleep with cookies though.

Laughing as I read this. I'm up, I'm drinking coffee, I'm on the internet, I've already puttered around, I'm "watching" the news, I've read the obits (good news, neither of us are listed) and I'm thinking I really should get dressed. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

No cookies though - I'm progressing!

And dinner's done! Beef and broccoli in the crockpot and it's not bad. Wouldn't call it good either. Meh it's done, I've eaten worse.

You're up way earlier than I am lol. Nothing on my hectic agenda today. The only downside to this is family and friends are at work and nobody is home during the day. I guess I'll check the obituaries now. :D

Decided to have dinner out tonight, tired of trying to figure out what to do for dinner. Another eye-opening event.

At one table, a dad was cutting the pancakes for his tween son. And pouring on the syrup. Not old enough to do that himself?
At another table, a teen accidentally knocks a glass off the table. And starts to cry.
I look around, and noticed that a good 50% of the patrons are huge. I mean, I'm a big guy, but I was skinny next to these folks.

Dinner had so much salt in it, it would have been less salty to just open a salt shaker and dump it in my mouth. The green beans didn't look anything like beans, just a mush of green stuff. Could have been spinach or kale for all I know. Tasted awful.

Now I remember why don't go out to eat as often as I used to.

Maybe he has a developmental disability and his gross motor skills aren't great, so pouring syrup might be a disaster for him. 🤷

:yay:

Don't believe so. He had no issue doing anything else. I'm pretty sensitive to those that need extra help, and wouldn't speak ill of anyone in that situation.

You really can't tell sometimes. Maybe his dad did it just to avoid a big honking mess. :lmao:

Couldn't agree with you more! Every time the hubs and I go out to eat, which isn't very often, its always the same reaction after the meal. I could've cooked it better myself.

Sunday I got ambitious, made crab cakes for dinner Sunday and Monday. Also put chili in the crockpot for Tuesday night dinner, made the cornbread after work. As cold as it was last night...chili and cornbread hit the spot!! More of it tonight.
