:yeahthat: Tivo and Direct TV is the best....I need someone to come in and redo my whole system....I cannot record from Tivo to VHS.....I know I should be able to....I need 4 remotes just to watch a DVD....I am thinking about getting Direct TV people to come in....Anyone know anyone?

I am hard of hearing and I can go back if I miss something or if I want to show someone what I just saw.....During the Superbowl where Justin and Janet did their thing....I was the only one that saw what happened....Everyone laughed at me until I backed up and showed em....Over & over & over until I proved to them all that I was not a loonie... :whistle:

Wait till the show is half way over before you start watching it. By the time you skip the commercials you're caught up at the end of the show.

Yep. We have only had it a few weeks, but we love it! The DVR will hold up to 70 hours of shows, so we record almost everything we plan to watch, then do what TWL does--no more commercials.

Being able to pause, or rewind is great, too. And you can get a 'Season Pass' for any show you never want to miss. Even if the network changes the showtime, for sports or whatever, it will find it and record it. And all for just $5.99 per month, (I think)!!

Since it is hard to tell how many hours you have remaining, you can use this trick.

Turn on Tivo suggestions
Wait till it gets a few movies and tv shows
Turn off Tivo suggestions
delete all but 2 of the movies

When one movie is gone you will know you are down to under 4 hours (or how ever long the movies were)

Great idea. Thanks. Right now it doesn't seem like we'll ever have to worry about exceeding the 70 hours.
