Yup..sad...
He did not believe in early spay and neuter either.
Said it was better for pet to go into heat and have a litter before altering.
.....

You kitty OK?

My old gal was loosing weight and her breath go bad!! Also her coat was poor.
Took her to Dr. Brown, and she has a growth in her mouth. Not cancer, but an auto-immune type growth. On meds and she seems to be putting on wieght and her coat is looking much better!!
Good luck with your gal..12 is up there for a cat!

That was a ong time ago..
Was reported and the staff member got fired for some "stupid" reason.
Not a lot of people liked him..
He went thru Docs and staff more than other vets in the area.
He sold the practice,,and new vet, Ramsey is great.!!!
He still practices from time to time.

MASH is great too..expensive, but great. Saved may cat from a nasty cancer..gave him many more months before the cancer took over.

Guess it comes down to assuming the role of pet owner as one assumes the role of a parent..accidents happen and without insurance, medical tratment is costly and sometimes hard to find.
Part of finding a good vet is how well you get along with them, in addition as to how they get along with your pet..be it a mouse or a horse.

There is pet insurance? Where are these guys located. Daughter just rescued a dog. Nevr had a dog before. So we will need a good vet.

I'm not reading all the posts but have you checked for all the recalled food? These are major signs.

I was refering to health insurance that people dont have at times when they need it.
As mentioned, pet insurance is worthless when there is an accident.
If you need help with a rescue, might check with your local rescue group.

Not related to that. Her problem was this past winter and was a nasty looking meaty growth ib the back of her mouth.
Doc gave her a shot of a steriod adn it want away..still has not come back. She is better, coat is great adn her breath is nice and cat food fresh.
She eats Purina Indoor..has been for several years. No canned food for her!
Thanks for thinking of her. :howdy:

I agree with Camily. I gave pet insurance a try when I had my dog. It was a huge waste and I canceled.

I am not going to recount out every single blatant remark, or insinuated one. I have stated my opinion, deal with it. Reread the whole thread if you need to, I don't. I have worked for the government for 22 years, and I can tell you about dealing with the public. It only takes one person to give a place a bad name. As stupid as some of you have been on here, I feel bad for your vets. Look how dumb some of you got over me giving my opinion, I can imagine what the poor animal hospitals go through if they didn't do what you wanted, right when you wanted it.

Hey JA... I had an EMERGENCY and they would not see the pup.. So I don't have any problem speaking my mind they P--ssed me off ....Over the 13 years I have lived here EVERY ONE of my pets went to them....

You crazies can't get enough of me. STILL talkin' about this, huh? That was my opinion and I am sticking to it. You all know what you can do. As for my response to your future posts, just reread this: Get a life whiners. Boring, boring, boring.

Sounds weird then. I have issues with the receptionists where we go. I do not get my dogs yearly vaccinations and the receptionists treat me like I'm a bad owner EVERY time I go there.
I know this is late, but don't let them make you feel bad. It's been proven that animals DO NOT need yearly vaccines other than rabies (as required by law). You can actually just have a Titer test done to see where they are in immunity. After their puppy vacc.'s they can get regular vac. every three years. The titer test is cheper then the vacc. anyway. It would be as if we continued to get our baby shots every year as adults.

I know all of that and I do have the titer tests done. But they don't necessarily even need the shots three years later, just depends on their titer levels.

And they don't make me feel bad. For the most part they're all great. It's just every now and then they get somebody new and I have to explain it all over again.

Yep. Some vets just push the vaccines for $$$.
