I remember my mother making a dish she called "Pinecones", some sort of ground beef shaped like a pine cone with rice in a tomato sauce.

Which reminds me: mincemeat pie. Nobody ever makes that anymore, probably because they finally realized that it's gross.

My mom makes one every Thanksgiving and Christmas. My dad started to like it, he said when he was a kid he hated it but that was because his father chased him around the house with the hog's head.

I hate raisins and think it looks like someone ate it already so I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole.

My mom does, but she doesn't add any real meat. Basically a fruit pie now.

:yay:

My mom used to make them - many moons ago. I don't remember there being anything but raisins and ...? I don't know - I never ate it though!

But THING1 LOVES IT. Well, Thing1.loves.pie. Ask him what kind of pie he likes and he will say "Pie".

Ooh, I've got one: chicken a la king.

:barf:

That was a staple in every home I knew growing up. Good riddance.

but, it was fit for a king...

still crave them occasionally, fried bologna sandwiches :yum:

My friend's mom used to make hash burgers. I thought they were :dead:
I like to fry Genoa salami and use that instead of bacon. Did that yesterday morning, in fact.
