Exactly what it says.

Don't act like what Pam said was some huge ground breakingly horrible thing considering the equally or more horrible things said by others in politics.
So, I set my own bar. I don’t evaluate one comment only as it compares to other comments. That is referred to as “relative morality”, which comes when one’s standards are not set, but rather held only in comparison to others.

Her comment was a cheap shot. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything anyone else has said. Her apology was weak, forced, and wooden. She’s not “literally Hitler” or worthy of being called unAmerican based solely on the comment, but it was wrong and cheap and petty and demonstrated she was NOT there to provide scholarly unbiased comment on procedures and history but rather was there to smear her vitriolic hatred through the airwaves.

Standards are not variable based on what others do or say to a principled person. Your initial comment and this doubling down on that demonstrates relative morality. That’s just not who I am or what I would accept in myself. But, if that works for you, that’s obviously your call.

I'm not setting my bar based on anyone else. I'm saying that this comment pales in comparison to the hatred spewed everywhere. It doesn't take "realtive morality" or whatever to point out that her comment does not deserve the response its getting on this forum while at the same time no one is willing to comment or condemn the truly shitty and "cheap shot" (i'd argue the comments are more than that).

I will say that her comment at least did have something (contrary to your belief) to do with what she was talking about. She recognized that and apologized, not after the hearings, but during them. There's something to be said for recognizing when you were wrong and stating as such.

But when your apology is IMMEDIATELY followed by, "but Trump...." Yeah, not heart felt.

Maybe it wasn't heartfelt. Maybe she needed to start crying and throw herself across the desk only to be criticized for being too sorry.

Who knows.

From watching the video and looking up her and her accomplishments, it seems she is incredibly smart and realized that she allowed her emotions to drive that comment and apologized for that.

Did you watch her saying it? It was a rehearsed line, she got a message that it flopped was the only reason she apologized.

I'm with SGI on this, it's not that her apology wasnt apologetic enough. Remove that Yeahbut on the end and it was sufficient, but she couldnt just apologize, she had to toss another turd with her apology. In my mind, that negates her apology completely.

^yeahthat...a 'but' in an apology nullifies it.

Bullshit. I've already said how I feel about it. Her comment served no meaningful purpose. She knows it and apologized for it.

There's no "higher good" that comes from those types of comments.

Ok. So it was a unwarranted cheap-shot at the expense of a 13 year old kid (who is already punished enough by having DJT as his dad and two retarded adult brothers).

It was a scripted line that they did not expect pushback from FLOTUS on. They didn't think it through (like most hate-filled snark). They expected it to be the soundbite clip of the day, and it was (just not for the reason they thought).

Exactly what it says.

Don't act like what Pam said was some huge ground breakingly horrible thing considering the equally or more horrible things said by others in politics. Trump's entire campaign was a barrage of cheap shots. His presidency continues to be mired in cheap shots. Including alluding to the FBI using too many resources on the Russian collusion investigation leading to the school shooting in Florida. 3 days after the shooting happened. Parents weren't even done burying their kids before Trump took to Twitter to take jabs at the FBI.

But no. This "cheap shot" here is the end-all, be-all, right? :duh:

Wants kids and cheap shots to be out of politics? Don't condone and encourage it. Simple as that. But you don't. Not a single on of you will comment about @CPUSA telling another member to "slash [their] wrists and make the world a better place" SOLELY because they disagree politically. Not a single one of you have commented on the litany of other similar comments made to anonymous forum members who differ politically.
I see it hurt your poor widdle feelings.
Not big enough, adult enough, or MAN enough to just let it roll off...but can let any Dem/Lib smear or threat go with a "meh"
Here's a News flash for you boo boo....
YOUR SIDE SET MY STANDARDS!!!!...and now your LGBTQRSTUV, skinny jean wearing pack of pathetic Betas can't deal with it, so you come here & whine & cry that I'm saying MEAN things!!!

All while blowing off or making the lamest of lame excuses for your pathetic band of retards & the vile, despicable crap that they say.
Hey Chris, you don't like reading the hate filled truth to combat your weak heroes....leave. It's that simple. go find a place where you can feel safe & secure. Otherwise, deal with your status as a clueless, useless, nobody cares about your opinion status here
