The wells running dry (HELLO! The aquifer is running low!) and people tossing trash and butts along the side of the road concern me more. I don't see any respect for our natural resources, and that includes respect for our fellow man.

That's reality to me.

What was your question again?

Was it about a chicken and an egg?

Did you watch Al Gore's movie? I saw Oprah's version. It got me to step up my recycling, etc.

The ecosystem seems delicate to me. Aren't we all dead in four years if we lose the bees?
One thing you might consider is how seriously the people who tell you this are taking it?

If Oprah really believed it, would she be giving out cars? Would she have a staff of thirty people just to get her out of bed, dressed, and fed every morning?

Ralph Nader comes across as a loon, but at least he walks the walk. Can't say the same for the rest of the global warming spokespeople.

Darwin was right
I was watching the news last week and they had on a story about how the warming trend is causing the waters to recede from the shores of Lake Okeechobee in Florida. With the water level down so much, they are finding evidence of Indian villages that once dotted the ancient shoreline hundreds of feet below the current shoreline. They have found pots, fire pits, lodging and other signs of these ancient civilizations. Wouldn't that indicate that the shoreline had been at least that low at some time in the past for those folks to have lived way down there to where the water line is now?

I'm not saying that humanity is not contributing to the current environmental trends, but how will we really know. I also read that the ozone layer is showing definite signs of recovery in a news report this weekend.

And what have EITHER have them done to alleviatte their footprints? Don't you think if THEY believed the hype they are spewing they'd do something serious about themselves.. instead of travelling coast to coast on privat plnes to "chat" about it.. or entourages of limo's and security.. Have to wonder how much either of their electric bills are each month for the horrendous mansions..

And Carbon Creidts.. all I can say is...

DAMN, I wish I thought of it..

Kind of like the pet rock.. who'd a thunk??

I think all eco-nutties should kill themselves. If the planet cools, then we'll know the warming was because of man. :yay:

Seriously, as Bob and MM said, if the people who are trying to get you all juiced up about a cause aren't even doing anything to help it themselves, it means you've been had.

If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000. ... This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age.

How about having Mars and... Jupiter (i believe), where mankinds SUV's have yet to tread, NOT suffer some of the same effects of "Global Warming" that us earthlings are noticing here.

:yeahthat:

Mars Polar Ice Caps are melting ............ gee maybe it is Solar Flares not GHG

The government should be more interested in the fact that Atlanta has about 90 days of water left in its lakes to convert into drinking water... while every few hours the core of engineers releases water from Atlanta for the wildlife perserve in florida. I feel for the sturgeons... but humans need drinking water also..

Humans aren't going thirsty, they're just unable to wash their cars and water their lawns. Kind of a big difference, don't you think?

CNN (in ATLANTA) says...

Humans aren't going thirsty, they're just unable to wash their cars and water their lawns. Kind of a big difference, don't you think?
... those water restrictions are in place already and that Atlanta will be completely dry in 80 days.

They could be overhyping the situation, but, for now, they're in Atlanta and FOX, MSNBC are in New York. I'll take CNN's word, until it's proven otherwise.

To whoever made the poll, you forgot "none of the above."

I do feel the Earth is in bad shape, but there's nothing we can do to change it. I DON'T believe Global "Warming" in manmade. The Earth will take care of itself, it has for milleniums.

So, there's nothing I'm going to do to change. I happen to love the drive of my SUV and my SUV loves Iraqi oil, but it really wants Iranian oil!

This says it all! Remember Al Gore's famous electric bill?

Yep, $30,000 - Gore is a moron IMO... This is his new "passion", you know - like how HE invented the internet?!?! :lmao: But the electricity was generated from renewable resources right? :killingme - he's a douche and his wife is a smiling bag of crap...

The climate is changing - but it has been proven that the earth's climate cycles every 100K years or so?

`Earths 100000 year cycle

It is not good to waste, recycling is a good thing and should be practiced, but for the benefit of the ozone and weather patterns, no... there is way too much evidence on both sides of the fence to disprove each other!

Agreed! As I said before, it's not so much Al Gore, it's those millions of blind fools that follow him as he becomes chicken little and sends society off into a frenzy! The gazillions of our $$$ it will take to prove him wrong are lost dollars that can never be recovered. He & his followers should be tried and jailed for good!
