When I think back to my first date, I remember feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. It’s interesting how technology has evolved since then. Nowadays, there are tools and apps that can help make dating a bit easier. For instance, some people use advanced tools like sext ai to add a fun and playful dimension to their conversations. Of course, everyone's experience is unique, but finding the right balance between technology and genuine interaction can definitely help. It's all about making connections that feel real and enjoyable!

How people allegedly used to date. You couldn't prove any of it by me, because I met my now late wife online, but I never actually went on a date. I had a "situationship" (of sorts) before I met my wife, but we were both too poor to actually go out. And it didn't last that long, anyway.

It was with our neighbors daughter, her family was going to see the "Freedom Train" and she asked me to go with her. 2 weeks or maybe 3 weeks later we left Washington St for NH.

Her dad was a former Vietnam POW.. his hair was pure white from his captivity, and he was gruff.. not mean perse, but gruff, like to the point, no emotion. I was on my best behavior all day, and he insisted I paid for everything myself. Ticket, lunch, dinner.. etc..

Didn't hear from or see her again until the internet, we swapped photos (clothed) and went silent again until today.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Does she 'like' me? Does he 'like' me? Should, can, I put my arm around her? Will he put his arm around me? Should I hold her hand? Will he hold my hand? Should I kiss her? Will he kiss me? I better not touch her there or there yet. He had better not touch me there or there.

Ahhhhh. The nerve racking dry mouth palm sweating anticipatory navigation of a first date. Then the laborious mental self mind exercise laying in bed after kicking oneself in the butt thinking of what or how to have accomplished exercising all those feelings in what was the span of a couple of hours that only seemed as if together for a total of only 5 minutes.

That was pretty much how my first date went.

7th grade Sadie Hawkins dance at the junior high school, I asked her ( I didn’t know the rules) because she was “developing”.
Didn’t work…. She later had a very badass biker boyfriend in high school.

First date was after xmas 1966, told my mother I had to drop off a xmas gift(The Monkees album) so she drove me to the girls neighborhood around noon during xmas vacation. We couldn't meet at girl's house cuz her parents didn't allow her to see boys. It was a fairly warm day for December and we walked the neighborhood and the golf course that was adjacent to it. We'd walk for a bit, find a secluded place, stop and talk(ha), wash, rinse, repeat..for the afternoon. Learned alot that day..haha

I dated a young gal like that, back in San Diego. I was just out of the Navy, and she was just out of high school. Her dad had been captured by the Japanese and had survived the Bataan Death March. He had the scars, including all of his fingernails that had been split by bamboo. He wouldn't talk about it, unless I came over with booze, and even then, just bits and pieces.

Funny, but her name popped into my head just yesterday in one of those "I wonder whatever happened to...." moments. Hadn't thought about her in, well, decades.
