Don Megby Pontiac was next to Aldridge Ford. Don't remember any Fiat dealer.
Was it on the same side of the street as Raley's by any chance? I'm trying desperately to remember what was the very first car I totaled and I know I bought it from a heavyset guy at a dealership on Great Mills Road, but it wasn't anywhere near where any of the dealerships are now. I keep thinking Fiat Strada but I have no idea why.

Very first new car I bought from the Aldridge side of the road was a Mitsubishi SUV "wagon" of some sort..I've long since forgotten the model. That was around 1988?... Don't recall a fiat dealer here.

I don't think you were born yet when this dealer was there Gilligan. I'm like 73% positive that there was some kind of dealership on the Raleys side of the street. Might not have been a Fiat dealer, maybe just had fiats there. Hmmm unless it was something else boxy looking that I was driving. Regardless I know it was copper colored.
Does that sound like a fiat strada to you? You're a car guy.

Could be. I'm only 65 and yr...well...
yr...well...what? :lmao: I know I'm not crazy, there was some kind of dealership there that had fiats. It was on the same side of the road as Raley's, not too far from what is now Gate 2. My car was not notable, but I distinctly remember a pretty brown Spider with a soft convertible top on the lot simply because I had bent the frame on one of those suckers just a year prior to that.

I need somebody old, TPD is just a youngun.

Maybe you were mistaking a podiatrist sign for a car dealer.

The sign might’ve said Feet.

I don't remember a fiat dealer, but I left the area in July 74 and didn't return until August 86, so maybe there could have been one down there. If its really something you need to solve you might contact the historical society, they should either know or can point you to some one that does.

it was not. The only thing on the same side as Raley's close to car selling was a gas station on the corner of Willows and GMR - a Texaco I think. Rose's was on the other side of Raley's but I don't think you could buy cars there...

Thank you. Just put in for a local facebook group; they might know.

I really think this would have been before your time TDP. It was only there for a short period of time after I purchased the car and it actually might have been Aldridge. I know the place moved within a year or so.

Probably not a Fiat dealership, but rather a place that sold Fiats. Friend of mine in Abell was a Fiat nut and had several.

His name was Tony and he loved to fix them again … and again … and again.
