Okay, I just listened to the short version, and it would appear that Dog was dead on the money, considering he is now in fact famous in the Enquirer for his comments.
For those who can't listen at work:
Dog is upset because his son is dating a black girl - not because she's black, but because his team occasionally drops an N-bomb in their loose moments. His fear is that someone will make an unfortunate comment and this girl will run to the National Enquirer and make a stink, which would kill his career.
He doesn't appear to particularly care about *her* ethnicity - he's more concerned about offending her sensibilities and the repurcussions that may follow (and obviously HAVE followed).
Yes, he drops the N-word numerous times, but only one of them is actually directed at the girl, and even that's more oblique than a direct attack. The rest are more rude and crass than racist.
His language could be nicer, but he has a valid point. Obviously.
