Dog crap etiquette...

Strung Out
Is it better to look away and give the pooch some privacy? I mean, for those of you who choose to place man's 'best' friend in shackles, privacy is relative. However, when your pooch is running free, if only for the golden moment or so, what is best?

The only thing as pathetic as a dog hunched over taking a crap is having a handful of your buddies hair as she, or he, wretches up that one last drink they just HAD to have. Along with everything else they've consumed the last 6 hours and, all too often, it seems, their spleen, tail bone and other internal organs and/or structures. Bits of lung. License plates. You get the picture. Seeings how they will otherwise drown in their own puke, you kinda gotta be there but, what of the dog?

See, the thing is, if we just keep walking, I'm not sure if it is creating poopus-interuptus as she gets rather anxious to catch up with us thus short circuiting a healthy and satisfying dump, or, is she happier being left alone for a moment or two?

Any dog bodily function experts out there?

And, given the crap and non sense you people typically post about, I don't wanna hear any smart allelic or otherwise disparaging comments about this topic!

Who posts about crap?

Anyway to answer your question, I think it would be nice to join in the moment. Assuming you aren't where you could get arrested or anything. This lets the dog know what he is doing is the right thing and in a good spot.

I've NEVER found dog crap in the backyard. I don't even want to ponder why. He goes out, comes back in and doesn't do his business in the house. Pet doors are awesome.

Oh the look my parents' dog gives you if you are looking at him while he poops is awesome. Even on the leash he expects you to look the other way.

I look right at Apollo. Sometimes I taunt him - "Ha ha, if that cute Bichon could see you now." He tries to avoid me, though. He'll glance up like, "Sorry," then he looks down while he makes his doodle.
