If your dog is that bad about nails I would refer you to a vet. Not worth him or me getting hurt. I would give it a shot, but I am experienced enough to know a dog's body language. I have had very bad dogs come to me that I no longer have to muzzle and am able to get done with no help, so I guess it depends on the situation and the individual dog. Maybe I won't even bother with this. Sounds like more hassle than it's worth. I was going to look into insurance even if I only did a couple a day. Yes I would be very honest with a client about my son. I have a friend that may be willing to watch him for me a couple hours a day, or I can do weekends when my hubby is home. Everything I am asking, suggesting is only an idea. I am just trying to be smart about this and not get in over my head. I don't want a big grooming business, I just am trying to think of ways to help out financially while being home. Thanks for your comments they are great!!!
I do work for a vet and have over 10yrs of exp.
never have had to sedate him. It just takes two people and a muzzle to be safe ... but he knows he can over power one person! Thats my point.
when I started my own businesses I never thought about the extra cost ... electricity.... and on your end wear and tear on washer, septic, hair in tub,
the extra cleaning, .. the plus is you do have the expensive part but still look at other products to buy.
It stressed me out come tax time when I had to deal with uncle sam ... and dont think you can avoid him
Last week I worked everyday.....5 or so dogs a day..this week..NOTHING.....I love it though...
Spinner I had a lady bring my a Shih Tzu (called for quote told them $40 -45) came in big and hairry..knots a MESS...I told her we need to renegotiate or take him out of here...she left him...I went to do the feet and he was really touchy on the back..I got the knots off the pads (bottom) and saw a nail going into his pad...I cut it and PULLED the nail out of the pad..scissored feet and saw there was an exit wound too..YEP..in the bottom and OUT the top..holy crap...cleaned it up good saved the knots that were over his foot with dried blood spots on it and saved the nails that were in his pad..suggesed he see a vet...never saw one with an in hole and an out hole....have delt with the nail in though...so sad.
omg.... that is crazy!!
I have seen dogs come in looking like this...
