that will work. Really I need something for now anyway. I could probably find a bigger one when I need it anyway. Thanks for your help and support in this matter. It is good to know there are people out there that are not quick to condemn someone.

I'll get back to you. My dog used to love lying on the little entryway that I built her and sunning herself. As long as they are not left out when it's too cold or hot I think it's fine.

you can say that all you want, it doesnt change the FACTS that dogs have survived outside for ions and will continue to do so even without help from your pita lovin azz.

I guess its wrong for all those sled dogs to be left out in the cold all the time too?
they aren't left alone

My neighbor has two Presa Canarios that live 24/7/365 in a fenced in area in his back yard. They both have dog houses, and they stay out regardless of the temperature, whether it be 10 degrees or 100 degrees.

They have lived happily for the past 10 years.

Dogs weren't always tamed...

They told you this? Regardless, my point isn't that the dogs are outside, or in a house, it's that they are alone and bored. Left to their own devices, dogs are generally not solitary animals. When tj mentioned sled dogs I was mainly thinking of the teams of dogs who do quite well together.

Have they told you they enjoy being stuck inside your house, with nothing to watch but the cockroaches crawl on your walls?

At least outside they can watch nature, as dogs were intended to.

dont you know anythng, the thing dogs like best is to be locked in a cage just big enough for them to turn around for hours on end with absolutely no stimulation.......

so JM, being outide isnt the problem?

then WTF is, this lady said nothing about a solitary dog, only that she was looking for a house for a potential dog. sounds like a good owner to me, lining things up BEFORE she even has the animal

I never said I had a problem with 'this lady'. I was responding to your assertion that

Hate to disappoint, but my continued dumb responses to the two of you are hurting my brain. However, if you want to keep posting to me, knock yourselves out :yay:

So now you are saying there is something wrong with an outside dog?

you just agreed there was nothing wrong with sled dogs being tied to a stake outside all the time.

I do have to ask, because I really am curious, how much time do the owner's spend with these dogs? Are they social with other people?

Typical of idiots that get dogs for their breed name without understanding the breed.

Presas are a brachycephalic breed and cannot tolerate cold weather.

Aren't they also referred to as "Canary Island Fighting Dogs?" I would guess that not socializing them would make them even meaner.

Pretty much. And it should be mentioned that they have a very hard time in warm weather as well. They are really a breed that needs a controlled climate.
