I ASSumed that you posted it for a reason, that reason typically being because you agree with it, or at least thought it had valid information, and wanted to share it with others. Was that not your intent?

I posted it to remind people about the many thieves that their pet may fall prey to. I do not have the means to determine whether the statistics they cite are true or not. I don't have to believe every word of an article to post it.

I would be interested in what statistics there are across the Country with regard to pet theft. From what I have read in the past, most pet thefts are not reported.

My father died of lung cancer after smoking for many years. His chance of dying from lung cancer was significantly higher than the average non-smoker, so there are times when the statistics are important to pay attention to. Being a former smoker, I know that my risk of getting lung cancer is still a real threat, especially since my Father died from it. I don't get all worked up about it, but I do get a chest x-ray every few years so at least I can try to catch it early if I can.
