Anybody have any reviews of Dr. Radha Krishnan, DDS? He's an orthodontist in Prince Frederick.

I have used him for 2 of my kids, currently still using for one. He is pretty smart with the ortho stuff. I think he did a better job than the ortho I used for my first one in Waldorf. Good mannered also

Does Dr Krishnan treat aggressively? I am not happy with our current Orthodontist and am looking to switch. Our current is a "wait and see" type of person but has done nothing for a year to my son because certain teeth need to fall out. Plus he's implying that my son may need orthodontial care into adulthood. My son's teeth are NOT that jacked up. Just some spacing issues.

Mine is seeing Dr Krishnan. I have no complaints at all. Office staff is very nice and efficient. Dr has a good "chair-side" manner.

I've heard good things about him and my son knows several people who go to him. We have a dentist appointment in a few weeks so I'll ask for a referral then. Just not happy where we currently are and after 3 years of waiting to see some progress, it just isn't happening.

Good luck! I think we're nearly done. yay!:yahoo:

Our dentist recommended him years ago but we opted to go to one closer to home. I will feel really bad if I find out that had we gone with Krishnan back when we first got the referral, we could be close to done by now. I'm just hoping that he treats my son with a more aggressive approach. I don't mind the "wait and see" approach but after several months and things aren't changing, it's time to take matters into your own hands. My son has even gotten to the point where he just wants teeth pulled so he can get braces.

I got my wish. Dr Krishnan recommened pulling several teeth for each kid to help with the adult teeth coming in straight. Of course, my kids aren't pleased with this but at least it's progress. I'm calling for an appointment with the dentist to get this done ASAP. We will have to hold off on anything else until the furlough is over.

He's still a dentist!?

Wow, I went to him when I was a kid. Nothing bad to say, other than I hated that damned platal expander.

How bad is that thing? My little man is 4 and his dentist has already warned me that he'll need the expander in a few years. His mouth is going to cost us a fortune! :ohwell:

Horrible.

It gets glued onto your molars (like braces).

Food gets stuck between the top of it, and the roof of your mouth.

Every night you have to crank it open.

Every morning you wake up with a sore jaw.

You talk funny, and just when you get used to it, it gets removed, and you have to figure out how to eat and talk right again.

I was an early teen, and I can only imagine what it would be like as a kid.

Not looking forward to it at all. So how long did you have it? And are your teeth perfect now? Please tell me you don't need braces after this thing? :banghead:

Both of mine will get that too. The oldest already had a variation of it but it was removable.

:nomoney: Ugh, how old are your kids?

My oldest started with the orthodontist at age 9. Did expanders and braces on his front teeth. Stopped all work over a year ago because he wanted to wait for teeth to fall out. They never did and he was talking about my son being in braces into adulthood. His teeth aren't that jacked up so I went looking for a different orthodontist. My oldest is 12 now and my youngest is 9.

It's been awhile, but I think it was a year.

It wasn't to straighten the teeth, it was because my top jaw was more narrow than my bottom. It did fix that.

I did have to get braces after that...well, I was supposed to. Luckily, all I had to do was get 4 teeth pulled (at once), and it made enough room for the incoming teeth, and they all came in straight, so I didn't HAVE to get braces.
