I would take the child up to Children's Hospital for a definative diagnosis (if there is one). I work with alot of troubled kids, sounds like ADHD with Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
I think children are over diagnosed. These days, everyone is looking for a diagnosis ie: an excuse.

Our entire society has truly gone straight down the crapper.

All I was trying to convey in earlier posts is that a 5 yr old kid with a beha"vrai"al problem is-When a child acts up, find something they enjoy doing and use that to a parents advantage.
Yeah yeah. That's what someone else on this forum said - right until the story of the cops having to come restrain her violent fit-throwing son came out in the newspaper. But I'm sure he's a good boy. Just misunderstood.

A comic- Carlos Mensia? not sure how to spell his last name, said it well in a live stand up comedy act. Something about " When I was growing up as a kid, we didn't have all these strange diagnosis when a kid was messing up in school. Oh no, if you messed up, there wasn't no Ritalin, sister Mary would make you learn. Oh yeah, that biatch would make you wish you were on drugs". Anyway rent it from Block Buster, it's hillarious. :lmao:

Ya know, I used to think the same thing. And in some cases, I still do. HOWEVER ... when you detect a lump on your breast and it doesn't go away, you go to the doctor for diagnosis; when you are wheezing after strenuous activity regularly, you go to the doctor ... when you have a growth on your sphincter from :gossip: that doesn't go away with PreparationH, (one hopes) you go to the doctor.

When kids have behavioral problems that are not corrected through sincere effort via traditional means (i.e., time outs, spankings, removal of the "fun" stuff, rewards/points system, diversionary tactics, etc.), I see no problem with a parent seeking help from their pediatrician or other medical practitioner to see if something else is going on upstairs. And if the decision is made to medicate the kid (again, after sincere effort on the part of the parents), then I don't see it any different than an adult taking a pill to regulate cholesterol, a heart condition, or an inhaler for asthma.

Just asking. Obviously you did/are? The pinch behind the back of the arm worked? I just tried it and bruised myself, not good when social services come around. :peace:
