Drivers Attacked By Motorcycle Riders

There have been two recent attacks in the St. Louis area involving drivers who were outnumbered by motorcycle riders. Both happened on October 28 -- the first one along Interstate 270 in Maryland Heights; the second in St. Louis City.

The first victim called police as he and his 10-year-old daughter were being attacked while in their vehicle. Listen to 911 call

He told a 911 dispatcher that "there are 50 of them and they are trying to take over the highway. I'm trying to drive. This guy just threw something at my car." The driver said his vehicle was also being kicked as he was driving northbound on I-270 approaching Interstate 70 in Maryland Heights. LINK TO STORY

I’m sorry but if I had my kids in the van and this happened, I would have swerved and took out as many on either side as I could and ran down the worthless mutts in front of me. Gotta love the dismissive tone of the 911 operator.

Well I am sure that there was another part of the conversation that the guy did not share with the 911 operator... Maybe, how he almost hit or cut-off one of the motorcyclist??? Happens everyday here on our roads in SOMD... Maybe if motorcyclist banded together and returned some of the fear we are forced to endure on a daily basis than maybe the people in the cars, trucks, SUV etc.. would pay more attention and not look right through us when pulling out into traffic...

If you read the story you'd have seen the bunch attacked another car the same night injuring a passenger when they threw a brick though the window. Ya, they are probably a bunch of nice guys

While I agree that drivers need to be more aware of their surroundings, I doubt if this was the case here. I've had cars attempt to shift into the lane I'm occuping on several occasions. An SUV did it Saturday morning coming home from Waldork and a little red Honda did it this morning riding to work. Azz just kept shifting over and forced me out of my lane even with the horn blowing. Could have at lest used his turn signal.
People are already afraid of motorcyclists, that's why in this case the driver didn't take advantage of his weight advantage. I know that if some goober on a bike was kicking my car, there'd be one more dent in my door when I hit him back.

My reaction would probably be the same out of self defense. If we killed the goober, I wonder how that would play in court?

I don't understand why these people don't just slam on their brakes and watch the show? If there was THAT many bikes, and their attention was on the car, a simple hard brake maneuver would throw those bikes all over the road, and more than likely, a few into each other.

Hitting them back with the car is the obvious Rambo approach, but probably would not bring a satisfactory end to the story after the court hearings are over.

I would just drive to the nearest donut shop.

I am so tough that this morning I was riding to work and kicked a white Dodge in the door that was crowding me in the turn lane and the engine blew up. Perhaps you saw it across from the Sunoco.

Last week I kicked a Ford Fusion and it flipped over.
