Dubya Says........

Plus, I feel that showing he has done this for several years means there is a pattern to in, not just some isolated occasions.

Ok - just - I mentioned that I try to get someone's meaning. That means overlooking things like spelling, grammar, and word mangling. You say you do this, but you persist in just being insulting. Do you have something to actually SAY about the man, or is this the extent of your comments? I mean, why don't we just make fun of YOU, instead of what you're trying to say?

Can you see my point? Isn't what a person intends to say more important than the words they use? Shouldn't we discuss the message, rather than attack the person?

We aren't making fun of him, sorry you feel that way.. When people do or say something funny, we laugh.. He just says more funny things than most presidents..

We like Bush, give it a rest.

And then you have things such as his talks about the taliban and al-qaida, saying we were going to go on a crusade... Thought might have been right, but the wording could have been a little different. People ARE judged (rightfully so) on what they say, not what we think they mean.

Good point, SmallTown! I couldn't believe Bush's lapse in judgement in using the word "crusade."

I enjoy reading critical comments about our President's mangling of the English language on a website that centers on an area where the people can't even say "everything" correctly. I watch a lot of news, and I just wish I had the time to document all of the mis-statements that I hear everyday from Republicans, Liberals, and worst of all, the media people! Talk about mis-speaking!!!

Note to the press... People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

We all laugh at the media as well when they screw up.. I mean, how many people didn't see the Fox news clip about J-Lo?

I cannot believe how dumb Bush is and how much he wears it on his sleeve. I didn't vote for him two years ago (write-in Mickey Mouse) and just hate that the Dems cannot offer a good alternative. It is just tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum.

No offense, but you Bush bashers are such a bunch of rednecks. "Haw haw! That guy's so dumb...haw haw...he can't even say nukeyooler...haw haw!" I compare him to a former President who was well-spoken, yet every word out of his mouth practically was a lie. Just shows how shallow people can be - you can lie your face off, but only if you pronounce the words correctly.
:duh:

Kelley, he can't be too dumb - look at who he's chosen as his cabinet members. Lots of very experienced and qualified people, unlike the Romper Room it used to be. A Secretary of State who actually does his job instead of just parroting the party line - how dumb can you get?

I give up. Some of you will find a reason to bash Bush no matter what the guy does.

Anyone remember Jimmy Carter mispronouncing the word the same way?

Sure - and he not only served in the nuclear submarine part of the Navy, he studied nuclear physics at Union College. This always baffled me - if anyone knew how it ought to be pronounced, it would be Carter.

With the Bushisms, we aren't bashing Bush.. You have to admit some of the things that comes out of his mouth are pretty darn funny.. Heck, even HE laughs about it afterwards.

Everyday I thank my lucky stars that he did assemble an all-star cast around him.. Do you think it was only coincidence that Bush stayed at the white house in plain view all the time, and cheney was hidden away so nobody could find him?

On the news last night, they mentioned 6 congressmen(or women) that didn't spell their party affiliation correctly?? I think 4 put down Democart, 2 put down , oh darn, I forget how the two republicans spelled their party.. But it was pretty funny.. One of them said he was rushed which is why he didn't spell it correctly..

To me, this is why we need to bring back the literacy test, and not just for the voters..
"Whoops, you didn't spell republican correctly, you can't run for office.."

:liar: You're just mad because he doesn't do anything illicit or scandalous that you can bust him on.

It's just annoying (and I'm not saying you do this, ST) that some people chose to ignore the more upsetting things a former President (who shall remain nameless) did, yet make hay out of some mispronunciations and a 25 year old DWI. It's okay to lie, cheat, steal and take campaign money from hostile nations but by golly you better say "nuclear" instead of "nukeyooler".

Good point, Vrai. The difference between the two is that the first one is definitely not funny, but the second one is. Also, Clinton came in for some (deservedly) heavy ridicule from comedians over the Lewinsky business.

Really?? I don't think anyone wants a president doing anything illegal, regardless of party.. To me, the president represents America as a whole to the entire world.. I sure don't want the word to think americans are criminals by nature.. Heck, if the Bushism are the only thing "negative" on his resume, i'll be more than happy to vote for him in the next election!

Recent events show that there are indeed a whole group of people who want their President doing illegal things - whatever it takes to keep their party in power. Like maybe trying to change the election rules in a particular state after the election because your guy lost. Like illegal fundraising activity. Like lying under oath.

 I heard that! Like it was coming out of a megaphone. I
still think his allowing of the technological sales to Mainland China for favor was a grievous issue. To think we almost got Gored!?!
"Gee, I had NO IDEA that Bhuddist Rally was a political fund raiser!" He didn't know his people were out there collecting "donations"! What was that about "fooling some of the people some of the time"........?

:razz2: I'd forgotten about that! But isn't odd that when certain items were being discussed in those meetings with Slick Willie and other DNC members, Al had this huge urge to go pee? Or was it maybe someone suggested it would be a good time for him to do so? I do recall him saying that; "Gee, I don't recall that conversation, it must have been while I was at the men's room."

Well, wouldn't you? Man, if I were Al Gore I'd have spent the whole 8 years in the bathroom!
