That book is da bomb! VERY realistic in terms of expectations and stuff. <~~ that means it's also funny ... you'd never know this chic was the wife of a multi-millionaire the way she wrote it.JabbaJawz said:That books sucks. Way too clinical and sugar-coated. If you want to know how it really is, read "Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy," by Vicki Iovine.

nomoney said:wh; haven't you been planning this little miracle for ages? why all the questions when you finally get lucky and not before when you were planning?
watercolor said:Planning and actual stance are two different things. And I am asking questions because I was having certain feelings and wanting to know. You dont have to contribute if you dont want to. But I wanted to know what others had been through, signs and such. Its not a bad thing I ask these questions, so if people want to give answers than they will. If they have no interest, there are plenty of other threads where they can find something.
nomoney said:woah there little doggy; I was in know way trying to start a fight with you. It was an honest question.......one I was honestly curious about. I see you already got the pixie pregnancy hormones going in full gear
vraiblonde said:But it's amazing to me that women in the olden days were out picking crops, squatted and dropped the kid, slung it over their shoulder and kept right on picking. Today we have all these rules and books about being pregnant, which is the most natural thing in the world and has been going on since time began.
I'm not busting on you, Sum - I was the same way, as are most new preggos. I just think it's interesting to compare simple things then vs. how we go about it now.
Back on topic:
My advice to you is relax. Do whatever you have to do to reduce your stress level. Your hormones will be going full bore (in case nobody remembers Pixie's gestation period) and you don't need any external factors messing with you. You won't hurt the baby if you have a glass of wine or a beer, just don't sit around getting hammered every night. And if environmental pollution were truly harmful to fetuses, we'd all be dead. Eat what you like but exercise and watch your weight - whether you're going natural or c-section, you want to be in good shape for the big day.
One more thing - breastfeed. It's healthier for the baby, helps you get your preggo weight off, it's easier to do in the middle of the night and it's one less thing to carry in a diaper bag. Plus when babies barf up formula, it stains everything it touches this nasty yellow. Breast milk doesn't do that and it doesn't smell rank, either.
Congrats to you and Jesse!!
