Easter Baskets

Walmart still had a crapload of crap yesterday

:yeahthat:

The girls are getting a card with money - no more than $10. That's about what I'd spend on baskets filled with junk they don't need. I'd rather them spend the money on a cd, a shirt, etc., that they really want.

We arent putting much candy in my son's basket this year cause Grandma gives him plenty! I went shopping yesterday and got crayons, art paper, some small games, some books for his TAG, some puzzles, balls, sidewalk chalk, bath toys and we got one really big present for him

:yahoo:

Power Wheels By Fisher-Price -- Vehicles, Batteries, and Chargers

I cant wait to see his face!

Are you serious?

It's easter not Christmas. I spent 20 each on my kids and feel that it is to much for easter. The holidays are only about presents anymore.

When my kids were younger I used to buy a big gift for them to share and get a small basket for them to split. When they are under 6 I really didnt think they needed all that candy. But the big gift was never a power wheels  But if you got the money why not I just never had the $.

Just finished the baskets last night :phew: The older boys each got a pair of flip flops, an axe body wash and spray, a reeses peanut butter bunny, a pack of peeps (5 peeps I think it was), and a few mini cadbury eggs. Baby Jack got an elmo toy and book and 2 packs of gerber fruit snacks.

I don't buy mine a lot of candy either but a power wheels is a little extreme in my opinion. But if that's what they want to do then that is their business, I was just stating my opinion

Me too, but I actually dye eggs anytime I hardboil them, so it's obvious which ones are dyed vs. which are raw :yay:

I'm sneaking out at lunch today to make BB an Easter Basket and I'm going to hide it in his house so he has to find it on sunday!:killingme

hopefully you leave the hardboiled eggs out of the basket, that could make for one smelly house

My mom used to always mark the boiled ones with a "B". I told my sons that I would make them deviled eggs with the one (each) egg they dyed at the party.

Yep, I am serious. I know the holidays arent about presents, but it doesnt hurt to give presents either.

How is that going to fit into his Easter basket?

Well, I dont think it will, we are going to park it in the garage for him to find. I think. I hope he is just as excited about it as I am. It is pretty cool, has a working radio, cup holders and even seat belts.

What was your kid's favorite thing the Easter Bunny put in their basket? For my oldest, it was the Star Wars xbox game. For the youngest, it was the Hot Wheels.

If I'm going to give my kid a power wheels anyway does it matter if he thinks the Easter Bunny left it or Mommy & Daddy went to the store and got it.

The youngest loved the Peeps she was left. The oldest enjoyed the wii game he got. The middle - hmm, probably a Buzz Lightyear flashlight.

It doesn't matter much until next easter when he expects something huge from the easter bunny. Then you will either have to keep up with it or have a dissapointed kid. Nothing wrong with it if you bought it just to buy it, I buy my kids things to. It doesn't matter to me what you do.

My kids must be weird – or humble however you choose to think about it - they have never associated a gift with a value - they know that certain things cost a lot of money so they can't be given it all or you have to work hard to obtain it yourself but they have never calculated that Santa spent XXX this year so I can ask for XXX next year.
