Ehrlich a liberal?

Ehrlich ran courting the NRA and other pro Second Amendment groups, but has said he would not veto some of the heinous anti-gun bills that are before the Maryland legislature. Given the opportunity, I would like to ask Gov. Ehrlich whether he thinks his stance ingratiates him to the anti-gun crowd? Does he actually think they may vote for him? I think the answer is a resounding no. What he is in danger of is having the pro Second Amendment groups that supported him not support him in any future elections. He will loose without their support; he would have last time. He better rethink his positions, or be a has been.

I don't plan on voting for him again, and IMO, he is already going to be a "has been" after the next election.

I'm disappointed, but looking back, it was a rock and hard place, it was him or KKT.

I realized I don't know Governor Ehrlich's middle name. I guess the "L" stands for "liberal" on policy -- and "let the daggers fly" on politics.
It stands for Leroy. Robert Leroy Ehrlich, Jr. And after that, I'm not going to take this columnist's comments to the bank. I'll research the Ehrlich record myself.

Isn't he the one pushing for Slot machines? Not to draw lines on either party but doesn't the general Republican party stand against gambling

I would never consider Ehrlich a liberal, but I also am certain that he will not win reelection in 2006.

Yes Dems Ehrlich has pushed slots since day #1.

that :banghead: wasn't :banghead: my :banghead: question :banghead:

I was asking if legalizing gambling was either strongly supported by Democrats or Republicans... It was my belief that Democrats always sponsored legalizing gambling and Republicans were against it because they were more conservative... is this true

thanks... :huggy:

No the Maryland Democrats see gambling as a disease harmful to the people. They brought it to a stop and have until now been blocking it. They didn't see the people still doing it, but in other states, until faced with the reality that to pay for some of their programs they would have to raise taxes or come up with another means. They still aren't for the idea.

Thanks :flowers: I personally like the idea    if one arm bandits have nowhere better to put their money than in a slot machine, then let them (it's there choosing.. it's not like the slot machines jump out of the bushes and force themselves on these folks)... but then again, I don't see gambling as a "disease"
