Endocrinologists??

Anyone have any recommendations for good endocrinologists out there? Annapolis Endocrinology is closing their Prince Frederick location and my current doctor there will no longer be with the practice. I've tried calling Calvert Internal's Dr. O'Keefe and a few in St. Mary's who all are not accepting patients. I've gotten a lot of recommendations for Dr. Yu in Waldorf but their practice does not have any contracts with insurance so I'm not sure how expensive all my appointments would end up being..... so, is there anyone else out there without having to drive 2 or more hours away?

When you find one, can you post who it is? I was with same office as you and was not pleased when I got my letter. I'm in st Mary's and I Do not want to travel to Annapolis.

the only one that is in St. Marys Co now is Dr. Satha in Charlotte Hall. He is with the Shah's in the medical building up there.

Do Dr. Levy or Dr. Misra accept insurances? I think they are part of the same group as Dr. Yu? Are your appointments expensive?

I was refered to Dr. O'Keefe but was passed over to Cathy Heilig, CRNP-F, CDE. I have seen her twice and no issues. My numbers are starting to come into range. From the first of the month I was sometimes 455 and today 94. Still working on regulating it better, but pleased so far.

I found the BEST endocrinologist here in St. Mary's on Moakley Street , however, she is leaving her practice now because she is having a baby and moving closer to her family . Dr. Krajewski is fantastic and I am totally bummed that she is leaving. Her last day was yesterday, August 22. The office says they are actively searching for a replacement for her, but she is a tough act to follow. I hope they are able to find someone who is as good. I was so excited to have found someone who was good and conveniently located here in St. Mary's and now I am back to square one.

I, too, ask that if anyone knows of another good endocrinologist, please pass the information along!

What you pay out of pocket depends on your insurance plan. Given the shortage of endocrinologists in st marys you may be able to get your insurance to treat levys office as part of the in-network deductible.
