Pretty sure that it will have the desired effect of allowing people to light up their bikes.

Ed Zachary..

I guess saying.. We want to light up the engines on our bikes because we think its COOOOOL.. probably wouldn't have been passed.

Only illegal to RIDE with the engine lights on..

Not that they would do much good on a bike with a fairing anyway.

No color/flash restrictions? All lights illegal? That's stupid. :ohwell:

I've seen several full fairing bikes with lighting inside the fairing. Looks interesting I suppose.

I wonder if full fairing bike owners could argue that the light is inside the vehicle, much like a kid playing video games in a car?

So you're saying it wasn't a waste of resources and money to try to pass a law that will have no effect?

It will have some effect....all those morons out on the road will look at the really cool lite up bike(s) and run into someone....prefferably not a bike

Your welcome for clearing that up for you

This new Maryland law is a good thing. Maryland bikers were being stopped for riding with lights on even though the law was not specific. At least now they can ride without being hassled. Anything a biker can do to be better seen at night is a good thing. The law prohibits red and blue and flashing and oscillating lights but there are plenty of choices remaining (green, hot pink, jade, orange, purple, white, and color-changing). This law is definitely a victory for Maryland bikers and our business (Wyked Illuzionz) has seen a marked increase in Maryland residents getting engine lighting.
