Do you write down what you eat?

Maybe you are not eating enough if you are exercising everyday.

Not eating enough and exercising would result in weight loss and decreased performance, especially if they are doing 2hrs of combined cardio exercise daily.

Not always because if the body is used to the amount of exercise, and calories taken in. The metabolism will drop to conserve that energy that is used from the food eaten.

That is why you see endurance cyclists, marathoner's, and so on eat a large mount of calories and still lose weight.

Also not every calorie is created equal.

I think this may be my issue. I have to force myself to eat. Not an eating disorder just not hungry or too busy. I have written down what I eat and most days I would say I am 1200 calories or below. I am very active so I have been told to "kick it up a notch" since my body got used to all I do so I bought an elliptical and burn any where from 400 to 1000 calories on it. I also hike or walk every day. I have started using weights at my desk when I am on the phone so I am hoping that will help. I also take a dance class one night a week. I just know if I was taking ephedra, with all I am doing I would see weight loss.

Start having a little more healthy protein.

After your dance class get a low sugar low carb shake mix with whey protein. Have that after class.

Ok here is how to explain what you are buring and eating.

You are eating 1200 calories.

You burn 1000 calories on the exercise machine.

1200 - 1000 = 200 calories. That is only 200 calories that your body is using to operate through the day. Think of the metabolism as a furnace. The furnace needs fuel to keep it buring. That 200 calories after exercise is no way near enough fuel for that fire.

Eat a healthy breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper and snack.

I lost a lot of weight with just diet and exercise. No pills at all just watching everything I eat and educating myself about how the body works.

Keep in mind if a person is "not" losing weight and "not" gaining weight, then caloric intake equals caloric expenditure. I agree 1200 calories is very very low.
In my experience, however, most of the time the person is either overestimating how active they are or are underestimating caloric intake. More the latter vs. the former.
That being said, who cares?
If what you are doing is not working CHANGE IT! Stop spinning your wheels. If you really want to lose weight, make a change.

On the Subject of Ephedra

I knew two gals in NM who were fond of the stuff.

Andrea would pop a couple of "Truck Driver" or "Skinny" pills, as she called them, a few minutes before putting Satan's Spawn (her daughter) on the bus on a given morning. She would then proceed to speed clean her house, popping a couple more with a cocktail lunch, then finish her thorough job - as if the Queen were arriving, before the Hellian and Husband of the Year arrived home...

Saundra liked to pop handfuls (5 or so) with our companions boarding the "Party Honda" or whatever to Juarez... (just imagine going 100+ miles/hr with hopped up "adults" en route to Mexico, loud music, beer flying everywhere :yikes:). It was their pre-party, co-party happy helper to partying until 4:00 with mas cerveza, hitting Denny's then driving ~85 miles back to base.

And those are the reasons I have found that people have used it - to keep you moving and to keep you partying. And I'm not saying that it's altogether bad. I'm not, really. I've used it. Not in high amounts like those above. I don't think it should be banned, just not available to minors. Give them time to grow up before they screw themselves up like everyone else.

Your right...I am starting to "change things up" a bit. I am trying to eat a healthy breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper....I will keep trying. The fat I am trying to get rid of is "old" fat...never did get to my goal weight. I know this is the hardest to loose. Thanks

I love this SHI....

Ephedra/Ephedrine/Whatever is as dangerous as the person taking it. I love all the internet gurus who get on here and have all the answers. Cracks me up. There are risks to anything you take and anything can be safe if the variables involved are met. That's what pisses me off about this whole Steroids/Congress thing. Idiots......

Do you believe that prescription drugs are safe? Why not a doctor gave them to you? Do you believe OTC drugs are safe? Why not you or your kid can buy them? Do you believe natural or organic drugs are safe? Why not they are from the earth, right? Jesus H. Christ people............

Why do I have to suffer due to idiots not being educated or smart about what they put into their bodies? F them! F parents for not teaching there kids to be smarter. Why does Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens have to take a hit for steroids? They were not hurting anyone.

Had to get this long time built up rant out of my system.

Wrong side of the bed syndrome?

Are you drinking a lot of water? It's very important for your body to stay hydrated - this also helps to flush impurities out of your body and gives you natural energy. Another thing to keep in mind is that muscle weighs more than fat so if you are toning up but your weight is staying the same then you actually are accomplishing something. What area are you looking to lose the weight in? (Pilates is great for the abs - especially an exercise called "The Plank". )

How do you say ephedra is "very dangerous", then recommend Hydroxycut?

I once ordered Phentermine online...Got a 30 day supply. I have no idea what is in it...A friend of mine has been taking it for sometime so I decided to try it. I hated it. I hated the taste and the way it made me feel. I took maybe 3 pills....Threw the rest in the trash.

They are just quick fixes IMO. I started running the track @ Patuxent High last Spring and lost 15 pounds. Now, to keep the weight off, I bought a treadmill and I run 2 miles every morning. (It's in the kids playroom, I run while they are watching their cartoons). I eat pretty well and I have a 4 year old and 3 year old twins that keep me on my feet all day.

Ephedra was only dangerous to those who abused it or had existing medical conditions. Anyone who followed the ECA stack understood it's benefits (both physically and mentally) and could make some serious progress in their workout routine.

Today's "fat burners" are nothing like those from a few years ago. I've tried a huge variety myself, none even come close.

The closest ephedra replacement I've found is GAT's Jet Fuel or VPX's Redline (serum formula) for an energy kick.
