They have moved the kids to the gym until the buses arrive. It sounds like they are sending them home. The scanner said they would be contacting the local radio stations.

Just received a voice message from the school, the fire department allowed everyone back inside, yet the are still sitting in the gym. there was a suspicious odor that evacuated the school, smeco will now be investigating. the power is still out. No word on the kids coming hom though.

I wanna be a SMIB
On the phone with trans now, buses will be picking up kids and bringing them home as soon as they can get them all there. That is all.

I received the call from the school, they didn't mention anything about the kids being sent home, just said that they were able to return inside

You should have received the call by now. Esperanza is closing for the day. :yay: Buses are slowly arriving now.

i called transportation dept @ 11:07 because I couldn't get through to school. the woman said that the chief administrator is checking things out at the school, and they are waiting on word from him whether or not the buses need to be dispatched.

Students will start being dimissed at 11:30, only as buses become available, so not everyone gets to go home at once and it could take a few hourse to get everyone home.

let me ask this do you want to leave your kid in a school that has had electrical problems and smell of electrical shotting out in it for the rest of the day?

who cares if they are getting out or not just pick them up... they are going to be in a school where the power has been shut off in anyways.

i thought about picking up my kid, but didn't know if parents descending on the school in mass would cause more of a problem. the initial call did not put fear in me about my child's safety, but I also wouldn't want to be in a gym with the whole student body for the day either.

well excuse us for posting to each other to let each other know what is going on...did you ever stop to think that maybe not everyone has the ability to pick their child up at that moment?
