Evan's Seafood Restaurant

I was driving past Bear Creek in a Half Shell, formerly Evan's Restaurant, on St. George's Island, and noticed a sign announcing, "Evan's Seafood coming soon!" What does it mean? Are the former owners taking over the restaurant again (a good thing, if so ), or are the Bear Creek people just using the old name? I think business was somewhat slower in recent years, so I thought maybe this was an attempt to get back old customers.

Anyone have any idea?

Evan's will reopen on Mother's day weekend. It is being taken over by the lady that currently runs Mattie's. She has received permision to use the Evan's name.

Quit being meam to the newbies. It was an honest question. Mattie's is a restaurant on 235 south of the base. Old timers might remember it as Peck's Tavern from years ago.

I guess it's all too obvious that I wasn't born and raised in the county. Funny that I've been here 11 years and never noticed that place, though.

It's not exactly on the beaten path.

It was good place to eat although Bear Creek didn't open the deck often enough for me.
