Evergreen Disposal ?

No I don't - my husband was active duty until a few weeks ago and I have a FL address and license plate. In a month or so I will have a local ID - they give you a couple of months to get that done once you are no longer military (although he is in the reserves so he gets to keep his ID - I am still going to get my local one) We just decided to buy a house when he knew that he was going to get out and we would be staying here.

And since you asked, that reminded me of a question I had (off topic) - can you go to the MVA in Leonardtown to get your registration/plates changed on your car or do you have to go to Waldorf? The little brochure the lady at PSD gave me doesn't have Leonardtown listed but on the MVA website it says Leonardtown is a full service place.
Thanks to whoever answers :howdy:

Take your time,
First registration you'll pay sales tax on your car's blue book value.
... and Lovevill MVA is a full service location

Thanks for the info - good to know that I don't have to go to Waldorf :howdy:

Thank goodness both of our cars are about 7 years old... time for a new one soon but a new house came first

I don't remember FL charging me blue book value when we registered the cars down there... MD is just money hungry I guess. Oh well - what other choice do you have? Have to pay it...

Happy Friday everyone.

Does anyone out there use Evergreen Disposal for trash pick-up service? I currently use Waste Mgmt and I think I'm paying twice as much as other services and I only get one pick-up per week. Evergreen offered me two pick-ups per week for almost half of what I'm paying.

If not Evergreen, any other recommendations?

Thanks.

Started using them in July and I have had perfect service. Make the change.

Do you have a phone number for Evergreen and the others other than Waste Management...we had those folks for years until discovering the transfer station. But still would like the numbers or a link to them if anybody has them... Thanks!!

I just signed up for Evergreen yesterday. The lady that came to my door was really nice. I was paying $135 a quarter for Waste Management. Good service but man its a rip off. A lot of my street has changed to New Vision but I cant get a hold of them to save my life. Ive called them 3 times all at different times of the day. Then I emailed them via their online form. I basically said "I want your service, please contact me so I can set it up!" Still no response.

So the lady came to my door with Evergreen and I signed up. Same price as new vision but their website looks a lot better and seem to be easier to contact. $66 a quarter and they take bulk items too! WM will not take anything not in the can....

WM sucks! Better service for less than half the price :buddies:

Where exactly do you live? If you're in the Waldorf area, we prefer to use AA Reliable. They're a local company out of Hughesville, and IMO they have reasonable prices for 2x/week pick up. The Maryland Independent did a story on the possibility of foregoing multiple trash pick up services and implementing a "consolidating waste program," which includes leaving waste management to the county, prohibiting people to choose their system. Anyone have any thoughts on this possibility?

We went to Direct Express on 235. I don't know what was going on at the MVA in Loveville around that time but the people that work there were horrible and we just didn't want to deal with the headache. Direct Express called us when they received our titles, we went that day, and had everything in less then 10 minutes. It didn't cost that much either.

I use Evergreen and have been very happy with it. I used to have Waste Management and you are right, they kept raising their prices. Two things I like about Evergreen -- one is that they provide you with a trash can and two they empty the whole trash can. You never have papers or cups stuck in the bottom of the can because they pick the whole thing up and empty it. I think I pay $63 or $64 every 3 months. This is for 2 pick ups a week. Some of my neighbors only have one pick up a week, and they pay less.

Sorry to respond on an older thread, but I am curious and see no one commented on the Evergreen fees. We have Waste Management and speaking with a few others in our neighborhood when the Evergreen guy came door to door... I realize each have a monthly fee for a twice a week pickup (with a canister) paid quarterly... but when you get the actual Evergreen bill, what are the additional fees and how much? Fees I see on WM are fuel/environment fee, regulatory fees, or other admin fees? These fees could make that quarterly bill about the same. My quarterly WM bill is around $158.

Wow

That sounds high. I dumped waste management, so sorry I can't answer. I also paid on an annual basis, and I don't recall seeing a breakdown of fees

Using Goode for about a year now, 72 bucks every 3 months, once a week pick up, actually the price dropped once.

$75 bucks for three months of twice weekly pickup and they provide the bucket. If you want to add at tip for the driver/operator, you can do that. Or not.
