Wow

That sounds high. I dumped waste management, so sorry I can't answer. I also paid on an annual basis, and I don't recall seeing a breakdown of fees

Dumped WM also, seems they had the market cornered pretty good for a while.

Sorry to respond on an older thread, but I am curious and see no one commented on the Evergreen fees. We have Waste Management and speaking with a few others in our neighborhood when the Evergreen guy came door to door... I realize each have a monthly fee for a twice a week pickup (with a canister) paid quarterly... but when you get the actual Evergreen bill, what are the additional fees and how much? Fees I see on WM are fuel/environment fee, regulatory fees, or other admin fees? These fees could make that quarterly bill about the same. My quarterly WM bill is around $158.

I pay $60 every 3 months with evergreen, and there are NO fuel/environment fees on my bills what so ever, never have been! I get trash picked up twice a week.

If you call them say someone came by to offer you service, and they quoted you $60, thats what I did and it had been 4 months since the guy came by

Happy Friday everyone.

Does anyone out there use Evergreen Disposal for trash pick-up service? I currently use Waste Mgmt and I think I'm paying twice as much as other services and I only get one pick-up per week. Evergreen offered me two pick-ups per week for almost half of what I'm paying.

If not Evergreen, any other recommendations?

Thanks.

I think I will answer question that you asked instead of side stepping. I have used Evergreen for almost two years and have never had a single issue. They have not missed a pickup since I have been with them. I get two pick-ups a week for $76.00 every three months. I left Waste Management years ago. They did not provide any kind of service and were always going up in price. The other cool with Evergreen is that will actually return your phone call.

If you call waste management and complain they will reduce the price. They cut my bill in half when I called and complained two years ago.

Evergreen just came to my neighborhood. I was signed up for pick up twice a week, at $75 for 3 months. He said no extra fees etc & they will pick up "extra" trash that wont fit in the can if you leave it bagged next to it. 1 year contract, guaranteed not to raise the price for that timeframe.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, it may be useful to check out the critiques left behind by other folks who try to use Evergreen Disposal... Oh, and not the comments left on their own website, either...

Try < Evergreen Disposal Inc Waldorf, MD, 20604 - YP.com >

I visited their website, after the gent came by the neighborhood. The quoted price is word-of-mouth (for me $75/3-mos.). Their website does not quote any prices, even on the webpage where you are encouraged to sign up... I also noted that the "contact data" webpage listed only a Post Office Box, and NO street address... If you look into other "yellow-pages style" websites you'll notice that the PO Boxes and the phone numbers have changed - even in the same time period... They claim to serve both Southern Maryland and Virginia counties. The maps posted on their website show only Charles and St. Mary's Counties (none in Virginia).

I'd be very careful of companies which claim "2 generations" of experience, have no permanent address, and change phone numbers.

Better Business Bureau ratings of "A" is not a good indicator, since the ratings come from businesses themselves (either the business being rated or colleages). You need to know how many voted for them and who those voters were - don't get caught in the "American Idol" syndrome, where someone can "stuff the ballot box" by calling in innumerable times.

Buyer beware!

Their website does not quote any prices, The cost is probably different for different areas since county landfills charge different tipping charges to empty the trash into the landfilleven on the webpage where you are encouraged to sign up... I also noted that the "contact data" webpage listed only a Post Office Box, and NO street addressThis is probably because the address and phone number changed but the webmaster for their pages is slow updating information. (it happens)... If you look into other "yellow-pages style" websites you'll notice that the PO Boxes and the phone numbers have changed - even in the same time periodSee previous comment.... I am waiting for my Evergreen service to start so I don't have any personal experience yet. You do raise some good cautions, but I will say this: half an hour talking with the door to door rep, who conveniently showed up at my front door at the very moment I was sitting down to my PC to begin filling out their online service request forms, plus talking at some length with a very friendly rep on the phone, plus several conversations with neighbors who have service with them is far more convincing to me than any online testimonials, either good or bad.

On the other hand, just as many personal painful interactions and misbillings and overcharges and late or skipped pickups and lousy phone customer service with Waste Management have made it clear to me that something must change, so it was an easy decision.

This guy came to my house today and would not take no for an answer. How awkward. And it is creepy when a guy you don't know comes up to your house during the day. Do not like. :(

The guy that came to my door was respectful, I just shut the door on pushy people, before I start telling them too STFU.
