Nothing obtuse about directly answering the question asked. I’d wager there isn’t a single taxpayer in America who pays for stuff they never use, either by choice or by circumstance.
If that notion bothers you, that’s your problem to sort out.
No one said you or anyone “have” to do a damn thing. Plenty of people nonetheless make a decision to choose private education because it’s a better option for their family — despite not getting a break/rebate on the portion of any of their taxes paid to fund schools. It’s a perfectly sensible trade off for me. If it’s not for you, then by all means, you do you.

I did unfriend my Hitler Youth niece because I was so disappointed in the terrible things she posted on her FB. That's not a political opinion, it's just mindless hate and I can't be associated with that. There are some things you don't get to express without ostracism as a consequence.
Because they all get the same talking points memo and parrot each other. Not a single one of them can think for themselves.
