Let's just start teaching teens about how cool and fun it is to have sex. Explain how their parents did it at their age and still do.

That will ensure a negligable teen pregnancy rate by the end of the decade.

When I was in school, there was a social expectation that you bang whomever the first chick that was willing to the first day you know them. If you didn't, you were somehow socially inferior.

Mind you, I don't buy into the "Sex after marriage" . But, if I'm going to have sex with 'em, I'd have to ask myself, "is this someone I'd be willing to raise a kid with or live with?"

If not, no need.

The problem with sex is it's inherent...fun-ness. We're not trying to get them to quit putting their dishes in the dishwasher or pick their junk up here.

If I gave my kids power tools, and then said "These are for later, when you're more mature and able to handle them. But, this is how and why they work, and how you use them", do you think they'd get the impression I was for or against them using power tools right now?

Parents should teach and control this. But, whoever said it earlier I think was exactly right - what is the proof that this DIDN'T cut down what would have been there without it?

On the face of it, the statement is kind of funny. True, trying to get kids to not have sex doesn't work as a program, but I absolutely guarantee it does work as a form of birth control.

...that depends on the defintion of 'works'. Again, you can't prove something that didn't happen; how many kids waited a week, a month a year or two due to the simply idea of abstinence being in the public arena?

Just say no worked to some degree, same thing, same idea.

Any liberally instinctively uses the same argument to justify spending programs, gun laws and environmental policy. If it saves one, then it has some value.
