Expired Driver's License

party301

i'll think of one.....
I've thought about it but it's not happening. Too big of a risk in my opinion. Plus, I just wear my contacts for a few months at a time. Then pop in a new pair when the old ones get too dirty for me to see through. Almost like laser eye surgery, but without the lasers.

i can't wear contacts. i freak out whenever anything gets near my eyes. so i was stuck with glasses that kept getting scratched up. a lot of my friends and family had it done years ago and have been very pleased with the results. i wasn't concerned about complications as much as i was concerned about being able to sit there while they messed with my eyeballs.

I don't care? Where, exactly, did I say that? I had no option but to wait until today to get the license renewed. And there were some things that I needed to drive to take care of, class for example. So, given the choice between skipping a class (losing out on 3 credits and the $1200 in tuition paid) and getting pulled over with an expired license (a $60.00 fine), I choose to drive and chance the fine.

You saying that you choose to drive and chance the fine is exactly you saying that you don't care! I have kids in college, and I'm not buying and excuse for an expired license. You could have renewed it on the weekends at various locations. Or in between classes, or on your lunch hour. And you are not going to lose 3 credits for missing one class or $1200 in tuition. You aren't in class all day long, 5 days a week. Excuses, excuses.

I don't have any patience for anyone that thinks they are above the law, or makes excuses as to why it's okay.

Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. Your the reason insurance is so high.

I wonder if your insurance still covers if you get into an accident without a valid license? that would make you an uninsured motorist and we condemned all those people to Hell in a previous thread ....lol

It is interesting. I suspect that if you read the terms and conditions of the contract somewhere it will require to only allowed a licensed operator and to have the vehicle currently registered etc. I would guess that if you didn't you may void the contract.

:yeahthat: I went through the same thing. The MVA site says to post in the rear window of the vehicle. The TFC that stopped me had to look at the registration long and hard to verify. You would think that the left hand would know what the right is doing. :lmao:

Because it's just a photo copy or printed out form any one could make it. So if the officer thought is suspicious he may stop and check to see if it's a legitimate piece of paper to what extent he is able. In my time i have seen everything. People will do anything to keep the car on the road.

Fake tags, photo copied (color) tags, fake stickers, cardboard "stolen tag", actual stolen tags, stolen stickers, altered temporary tags (white out)

How can I change the 8 to a 7 with white out.... :killingme:killingme

REALLY?

Do tell, what's the purpose of being "licensed" to drive in the first place?

Unless his unexpired license MAKES him drive like an idiot, or MAKES him get into an accident, I see no connection to what you are relating.

He're not the reason.

What's the purpose of a license? Really? Because it's a privilege and the state owns the road.

Are you sure someone's license status is not a predictor of behavior?

Unless they seperate the data and do the statistical analysis on WHY the license was invalid, the research, the statistics and their findings are invalid.

How can you group someone that HAD a valid license yesterday and forgot to renew it with the likes of someone that likes to drink and drive (and was probably drunk when they had their fatal) a 16 year old that has NEVER had a license and stole Dad's car?

The probablility of him having an accident today driving with an expired license because he forgot to renew would be IDENTICAL to the probability of him having an accident yesterday with a valid license.

It's a priviledge to drive on state owned roads is not reason enough to require having a license. Or are you suggesting he can drive on an interstate, but not on 235?

If he was qualified to drive on the road yesterday because he had a valid license, what makes him unqualified to drive today on an invalid license other than the requirement to HAVE a license?

Does he have to prove his knowledge to renew his license? Does he have to take a driving test to prove his driving prowess?? Is there any ONE thing you have to do to renew your license other than paying a fee?

So I ask again, what's the point of having a "valid" license?

We won't even get into the "constitutionality" of it all.

So did you renew it today? I had to go to the Loveville MVA for sticker renewal and the place was standing room only packed. It took an over an hour for them to renew 8 registrations as only one station was doing those. The parking lot was completely full when I got there so I parked at in the State Highway Admin parking lot and walked over. Just before they called my number I saw an employee coming through the back door with an armfull of Mc Donalds bags.

Then Just as I sat down the manager came over the intercom to apologize for the delays and asked everyone to be patient or to come back on Thursday as they were short staffed due to having to send a few employees to the Prince Frederick location. He then apologized again and asked everyone to please be patient as the employees needed to have their lunch.:killingme That goodness my two minute transaction was over at that point. I have never seen that place like that it was like going to the one in Waldorf.

Thats why you go to the treasures office next to the Sheriffs office and walk out 5 minutes later with all your stuff done, well worth the dollar,

I have been there before many years ago. I didn't think they did registrations after the MVA in Loveville was full service. Oh well lesson learned on that one.

So, in short, stick a sock in it. Because you don't have the slightest clue what in the hell you're talking about. :howdy:

I know that you let your license expire, nobody else did. You act as though it's not against the law to drive around and then say it's only a $60 fine and I'll take the change. I think your the one that doesn't have the slightest clue of what the hell your talking about. Having a busy life isn't an excuse, and it's sad you don't even realize this is something that could have been prevented.

The world would be a better place if we could all be as wonderful as you...:flowers: :diva:

For goodness sake, they send you a notice months in advance that your license needs to be renewed. If you missed it, forgot about it, or just put it off to the last minute...then it's your fault. Stop crying a river because of your busy schedule, if you get stopped, pay the 60 bucks and stop trying to justify why you shouldn't be penalized because your life is soooo hard.

If you missed it, forgot about it, or just put it off to the last minute...then it's your fault. .

He already admitted as much, he just asked how much the fine was. That way he could weigh the risk and determine if it was worth taking the chance and driving with an expired license.

I don't think he whined once about "The Gov't is picking on me!!" or "The mean cop gave me a ticket!!". I didn't even hear ONE "IT's Bush's fault!!"

In the same situation, I would have done the same thing.. I'm driving to class on an expired license.
