Expired Driver's License

He already admitted as much, he just asked how much the fine was. That way he could weigh the risk and determine if it was worth taking the chance and driving with an expired license.

I don't think he whined once about "The Gov't is picking on me!!" or "The mean cop gave me a ticket!!". I didn't even hear ONE "IT's Bush's fault!!"

In the same situation, I would have done the same thing.. I'm driving to class on an expired license.

:buddies:

I'm glad at least someone read my posts before responding.

So did you renew it today? I had to go to the Loveville MVA for sticker renewal and the place was standing room only packed. It took an over an hour for them to renew 8 registrations as only one station was doing those. The parking lot was completely full when I got there so I parked at in the State Highway Admin parking lot and walked over. Just before they called my number I saw an employee coming through the back door with an armfull of Mc Donalds bags.

Then Just as I sat down the manager came over the intercom to apologize for the delays and asked everyone to be patient or to come back on Thursday as they were short staffed due to having to send a few employees to the Prince Frederick location. He then apologized again and asked everyone to please be patient as the employees needed to have their lunch.:killingme That goodness my two minute transaction was over at that point. I have never seen that place like that it was like going to the one in Waldorf.

Yeah, I was one of the huddled masses there yesterday. It was like a sick version of Bingo. Everyone sitting there with their little slips of paper, then ding! "Now serving G-22." And then you'd hate the guy that was lucky enough to be holding a little slip of paper with G-22 on it. :killingme

Have you been to the MVA lately ? An hour don't think so skippy.

Yes as a matter of fact I was, and I accomplished everything I needed to do in less than 40 minutes. When you plan and have patience, it's surprising what can be accomplished, skippy.

I know that you let your license expire, nobody else did. You act as though it's not against the law to drive around and then say it's only a $60 fine and I'll take the change. I think your the one that doesn't have the slightest clue of what the hell your talking about. Having a busy life isn't an excuse, and it's sad you don't even realize this is something that could have been prevented.

What in the hell are you talking about? I know it's against the law, that's why I was asking what the penalty was for it. If I hadn't known, how would I know to ask about the penalty? :killingme

Your crazy excuses are never ending, I'm not wasting my time anymore.

Youcan get 2 tickets, 1 driving with expired License, and a must appear for driving WITHOUT a license, that 1 for with you can be arrested for

This is an interesting point. Can driving with an expired license also mean driving with out a license? It would seem to me that it's a reasonable argument that the license must be valid for it to be a license. That would be interesting case law for someone to make....:howdy:

Hey Bob I totally Agree with you, I have done it myself....BUT

I'm getting my masters while working full time. I am involved in numerous after-school activities, including FLOW mentoring and Best Buddies. I am required, by contract, to stay on site during my lunch break (45 minutes, not an hour).

I have Saturday classes from 8am until 4pm, in Huntingtown, an hour away. Classes are conducted for 4 Saturdays in a row. Because of the short timeline, if you miss a class, you fail the entire course. As in, you receive an F. To me, that counts as a waste of $1200 in tuition.

If I could have found time in my schedule to take care of it, I would have. But, I didn't and chose to take care of it today instead. I don't feel that knowing the consequences for my actions and accepting them constitutes my feeling I'm "above the law", as you put it. I simply chose to accept the consequences for my actions, should I get pulled over. If anything, that seems on level with the law, or maybe even below it.

So, in short, stick a sock in it. Because you don't have the slightest clue what in the hell you're talking about. :howdy:

That is whining

Actually, I'd love to have you arrest me for driving on an expired license. Then I could sue you and your department for wrongful arrest.

From: http://www.courts.state.md.us/district/forms/criminal/dccr090.pdf

Transportation Article 16, Sec. 115, Para. f

Violation: Driving vehicle on highway on expired license.
Fine: $60.00

And you do not have to appear, which means no arrest.

You really need to brush up on your COMAR if you're going to be playing a cop on the internet. Idiot. :killingme

They could just give you a must appear citation with a court date and make you show so up they can have the argument in court. In which case....you have to go and you can't allege some false arrest....:howdy: Not sure what the results would be but you probably would win. Try it and let us know? And let us know the legal expenses for this scientific exercise.

NOT Politically Correct!!
Loveville MVA, renewal of my drivers license took me less than 20 minutes and the staff was very friendly!!! :buddies:

I can't renew my license, because South Carolina gave my identity to "Stevie Davis" 10 years ago I faxed my birth certificate, ssn card, and proof of residence.
Well, South Carolina gave him My identity.
Now, when I try to prove I'm not Stevie Davis, the SSN's are the same :(
