I'll say it again: Romney was a great candidate and he'd have made a terrific president. The GOP just threw him away.
And by then they've alienated any middle of the roaders who would have helped get him elected. You can't publicly disparage "your guy", then be surprised when he can't pick up a following.

They're much more willing to accept someone with whom they agree 75% and pretend the 25% they disagree with is irrelevant than vote for someone they agree with far less or vote for a "principled" third-party candidate, or not vote.The fact that so many vote after death proves how dedicated they are!

I watched the debates, and Romney came out swinging in the first debate, he kicked Obama's ass good.
Then the last two debates he laid down, like he was trying to lose.

Stop it. Your average voter isn't swayed by the debates; they are swayed by what they hear happened at the debates. The media could say that Romney walked out there in a purple leotard, and the next day the internet would be like, "Why purple??"
Romney didn't blow the last two debates. He was fine. You just heard that he wasn't.
Hell, Sarah Palin freaking NAILED her debate with Joe Biden, but all you heard the next day was what an idiot she was. Oh, and her daughter is pregnant. And the campaign had to buy them all clothes. Did you know that she said she can see Russia from her house?

Romeny would have been a great candidate if you were not looking for a fiscal conservtive. The reality is that he is just as liberal spending wise as any Dem, he would have just been a social issuses conservative.
I disagree with that. Romney is a businessman and understands income vs. outgo. He understands cash flow and budgets. I think he would have been WAY more fiscally conservative than Obama.

The act that he and Jeb Bush met and Romney dropped out tells me , he really didn't want to be President anyway.
Why would any rich man in Romney's position want to be President, unless he was a glutton for punishment.
I can understand Jeb running he wants to be what his father and Brother were and lives for attention and power.

Romney is a businessman, but his record in MA was increasing taxes and creating Romneycare. I don't know how that can be considered fiscally conservative.

That's what the citizens wanted. They are highly liberal in MA, so they were certainly down with Romneycare. And to pay for it? Increasing taxes.
Why was it bad for a governor to give the people what they want?

What I get from this is, if he's being pushed by conservatives he will swing right; if he's being pushed by liberals he will swing left. Not very principled. Not someone I would trust.
