Do you think the Federal government will close on Tuesday in honor of President Ford...if I remember right, they closed for President Ronald Reagan in 2004. Just wondering

I don't recall the federal governement being closed in 2004 over it. If I recall correctly, folks from work were upset because they wanted to metro over to the Rotundra (sp?) to pay respect to Reagan (and it woudl involve more than a lunch hour beacuse of the lines)... folks were upset we didnt' get off. We go by Fed. Gov't closings (but it may be for snow only)... hope that helped some  I'll sign a petition if there is one to get off on Tuesday :yay:

And what would you folks do with your day off (if given)?

A) Spend the day mourning Ford's death in your own way

B) Spend the day watching The View

C) Spend the day with the family on the mall of DC in honor of our country to this great president

D) Spend money

E) Go to work anyway

F) Recover from your two-day hangover from the New Years party

I thought that was because most folks get off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day... Christmas Eve was a Sunday so folks didn't want to be jipped their 2 days off so folks got Monday and Tuesday off. On New Years Eve, I don't think alot of places consider that a holiday so its still just the one day off (New Years Day)... and most places are closed on Monday but open again for Tuesday. Hope that helped some.
