Federal Tax Refund

Oh! I got one for this.

So, we didn't get enough taken out over the year, and owed a fairly large amount. We filed electronically and paid via bank transfer. Well, the bank denied the transaction because it was over a certain dollar amount. The wife called the bank and told them to authorize it, then called the IRS and told them to run it again. IRS ran it and the transfer went through. Then, five days later, the IRS ran it again and the bank authorized it again.

So the IRS got paid twice.

Wife called the bank and told that she had authorized the first transfer, but not the second. The bank effed up. They have since credited the money back to our account. How they get the money back from the IRS is now their problem.

I have never seen the mail this undependable before. Twice now we didn't receive bills and had to end up paying late fees.

All the old timers are retiring, and the younguns they're hiring don't care.

35 yrs ago, I had to score high on a 4 hr test. Now they hire them off the street.

Article on the DC news tonight, some people haven't been getting mail of any kind for weeks. Holmes is demanding an answer from the Postal Service by Friday.

Google 'dc mail delays' and it's amazing how many articles there are. Since some of our mail goes thru the DC mail system, no doubt things will be delayed.

Here is my story.
Always before I got a refund check, The previous stimulus checks I got were by check.
When I did my taxes this year I opted to have my refund be sent by direct deposit.
So when they received it I guess they saw that and my stimulus check arrived by direct deposit.
Haven't seen my refund yet. I kinda thought they would arrive together.
That's me---------wrong again.
I also received the stimulus check by direct deposit. Previous stimulus checks were by mail. I've never used direct deposit for my taxes and didn't this year. However, I do get checks by direct deposits from OPM. I assume IRS accessed the OPM database. A friend suggested that the IRS was directed to do so because so many people complained about slow mail deliveries. Interagency database linking troubles me and I hope it's a one time thing but expect it's a sign of things to come.

I have spent hours on the phone with people who said they haven't gotten my payment checks. I have had to void checks and pay them with a credit card so they get them on time. The damned phones SUCK, Nothing but computers talking to me. You can't get a human being and if you do it's only after a long wait. The Postal Service is an absolute disgrace. And yet they delivered enough ballots to elect this demented olf fool and his concubine friend. Something fishy about that. I end up cursing the computer that says my call is taped , good Zi hope some prurient bitch has to listen to the tapes.

Mommy Dearest has switched most of her accounts to phone pay. They give her numbers that are actually manned by competent employees. Although phone pay has been available forever, it's new to her and she enjoys taking care of her own business. A few months ago, her payment to her NOVA credit union was returned, due to an address error even though the 10 digit zip code was correct and included the p.o. box number. It appears that the last link in the chain to get the mail to the proper recipient was too stupid to put 2 and 2 together and get 4.

Has anyone else had their Federal Refund delayed?

I did receive a letter from the IRS. Well, in an IRS envelope from *biden. I'm sure the IRS was super busy making sure this piece of bull got to everyone; so delay my refund, because, you know they are so busy... :tantrum

Our federal refund was deposited in our bank account yesterday - 32 days after I e-filed. The state took out their cut the day after I filed. It has never taken longer than 10 days in the past to get my refund. Interestingly, the refund is $4.23 higher than what I was expecting and I have no idea why. Maybe that's the second round of stimulus money I never got lol

We didn't get a refund - actually we got a very small one from the fed but it was wiped out by a much bigger PAYMENT to the state of Maryland.

So - no refund
