Yamaha Vorago 750 and a Yamaha Maxim. The Maxim was the bike a bunch of used to take our driving tests with. Hubby had a Yamaharley V Star 1100 Custom. We sold them to buy a boat - How dumb were we??? On days like today, we both sit there and say - "Dam I wish we still had our bikes." We are going to buy two more soon. What kind do you have?

I have a Yamaha V Star 650...getting to be too slow for me. DR has the 1100. I am encouraging him to buy a new bike, then I'll take his. His is much better than the 650 I have. We have a boat that needs a new engine in the driveway. There is NO way we're getting new engine soon for that. Too much $.

Look in the SOMD.com classifieds.

I escorted a lady friend on her first ride on the street this morning. Went to IHOP, adjusted her clutch after we got there and she stalled out MUCH less often on the way home

She has an '05 VStar 650 calssic

I used to steal CLeValley's bike. It was a really smooth ride. I was going to get an 883 Harley, but we held off. Now I wish I still had kept one of them just for a little ride here and there.

 Good for you, Aps. It's always nice to have experieneced riders with us newbies. I still consider myself a newbie because I don't ride much. I've had a lot of problems with the 650 stalling out. Don't know if it is the crap the guy put on it or what. I always have some issues during the first 20 minutes out. It dies on me at intersections unless I keep revving it up.

My mechanic knows someone that has an 883 for $3500. If you're interested, I can put you in touch with him, once I clear it with him. Low miles on it.

And you noticed which side of the intersection DR and I were on when it flamed out ?

Hers runs ok, but when the clutch is adjusted with correct free-play, the engagement poit is at the very end of the lever travel and hard to control. Found a 650 Vstar forum on Delphi, and this seems to be a common complaint. Solution is excess free-play

I saw an old dude on a bike today wearing black sneakers and black socks. :nono: That was not cute.

Had the same problem with mine last year. My mechanic fixed it. If she needs a fix, hook her up with me and I will check to see if he will fix it for her. He found other problems with mine and really did some good work on my bike. He is absolutley the BEST and is very reasonable.
