Feral / Semi Feral cats and kittens

WOW you've got quite the kitty clan there. I think my shelter kitty has a screw loose - she acts nutty and also tends to be a little slow at times LOL She will meow and cry as if she has been left alone (she'll be in the other room) and I'll have to call her over and over to get her to come to where I am and she acts surprised to see me like - OH THERE YOU ARE ... LOL

:roflmao:

We are surprised at how fast the babies are growing. All that "Cora" (momma cat) does is eat and feed those babies. She is kinda a riot. when she eats, she gobbles all her food down, like she is having a race, and drinks all her water and runs back in to her babies. ...... the babies are little pudge balls....so cute and so sweet.

I have been humanely trapping Feral cats in my daughters Neighborhood. Southern Maryland Feral Cat Rescue has been helping out with getting the Spay and Neuter done on 3 of the kittens we have caught so far. we were able to catch 1 more kitten and the mother cat (who is prego again) and 1 young adult male cat (approx 1 yr).

I would like to see the mother cat and the young adult male vetted as we have had them contained for about a week and they seem to like the attention more and more every day.

I run a very small Horse Rescue and we dont have a lot of funds available for cats, but I am doing what I can to help the community. I have agreed to foster the kittens and mother cat until a home can be found. I have two options for the mother cat. take her tomorow and get her spayed and all her kittens will be aborted, or let her have her kittens and try to rehome them all.
I'm having a hard time with this as she is pretty far along in her pregnancy. She will probably deliver within the week.

Any advice?

Bottom line: If all the cat lovers out there can donate to Feral cat rescue of southern MD on their behalf. We can get them the best care they deserve. It is not their fault that they are the product of irresponsible owners.

FCR has been notified of the malfunction. They will be working on getting the link straightened out in the near future.

In the mean time Donations can be mailed to:

Feral Cat Rescue
PO Box 623
Great Mills Md 20634

all donations are tax deductible

And if anyone is willing to sponser these kittys: Please mention my name along with the kittys name. :)

Thanks so much!

FCR told me tonight that we will have to raise 500.00 to get all of Cora's kittens Spayed/neutered/wormed/vaccinated, etc... so donations can be made specifically toward helping out with her care and that of her new litter.

:buddies:

Donate if you can and please let folks know that might provide these wonderful babies a loving home. :howdy:

Some of these guys will be at PETCO in Lexington park on Sunday!
COME BY FOR A VISIT!!!!:yahoo:

Paypal cut me off from receiving donations using the "donate" button. They asked that I provide documentation to them with regard to my INC paperwork and non-profit status. Which of course I don't have yet. So I have to use a non-donate button to receive donations for now.

I may have a financial backer for the paperwork, but can't seem to find a lawyer in the Waldorf/White Plains area to do the INC and non-profit paperwork for me! I'm trying to get a cost estimate to present. All the lawyers I have called, have not returned my call - I guess they have all the work they need.

Some attorneys will do the INC status that is required for 501c3 pro bono. I am working on that too.

If you can get a sample Incorporation letter and use it as a template. you can do it yourself for a 1/3 of the cost. (so I hear)

GOOD NEWS: 8 kitties recieved adoption applications on them today. YEAH. not my guys, but two of them were very close to being rehomed. SO EXCITED for the ones that will be going to their furebber homes.
We will try again next week. Hoping to get more visitors for these cutie pies.

I had an offer for help to do the paperwork, but apparently that help wasn't really free (apparently bodily services were expected). I chose to not pay the price for the "free" help, so now am looking to PAY MONEY for the help to get it done.

YAY for the kitties !!!! I am ALWAYS HAPPY when they find homes. Sometimes it takes a while, but they do find homes.

Speaking of, if anyone knows of someone who is at home a lot and needs company? We have a senior kitty named Poppy who is looking for someone to love and hang out with. He doesn't get along with other critters though, so would have to be the only pet. Poppy really has a human fixation, so he would do great with a human who is home a lot.

Sometimes the veterans home will take a cat to hang out with the residents.

find an Asian lawyer and trade kittens for the legal work.

Someone suggested I try senior centers but I would think they wouldn't have cats due to someone there possibly having a cat allergy but I will try those and the Veterans home also - all they can do is say no thanks.

Poppy is such a hard one to place since he doesn't get along with other cats/dogs. My foster didn't believe me about him attacking my dog and she let Poppy roam the house and he promptly attacked her beagle. BUT he is so loving with people - it's so weird.

I forgot to mention that SCARLET was adopted 2 weeks ago. :yahoo: We miss her romping around playing with everything, but we are glad she has a great home.

That is so GREAT !!!!!

Joey will probably go fast as he's only 3 months old, already neutered/vetted, and he's such a bold little guy. When introduced to a new area, he roams and sniffs to check things out - no hiding at all - yay!

Let me know if you have any possibilities for him. He's a purr machine too.
