My beagle bit me the other day in the arm. So any dog can bite.
ban them all..... then problem fixed.
then we will move on to cats... and that will drop the feral cat pop. out there.. cuz there will be more homes for cats!
Let's see.
In 2011, there were 31 dog bit related fatalities...out of 78+ Million dogs.

Bottom line...
ALL dog owners have a responsiblity to make sure their pet doesn't harm another human being. You, and others base your ignorant comments on nothing more than media reports that contstantly get proven wrong.
Licensing your pet, provide proper care, training and socialization of your pet, spay and neuter your pet, and don't allow your pet to become a threat or nuisance in your community. Doing that, along with enforcement of violations already in the books, combined with education will help create better pet owners, and result in safe, humane communities. Something that breed specific legislation will never do.

No need to ban them all. Most breeds have not killed anyone.

Just ban the top two breeds that kill or maim. Guess which two breeds that is.
Now there's some earth shattering news!!!My beagle bit me the other day in the arm. So any dog can bite.
So a normally non-aggressive breed just "turns" aggressive when the true killers are banned??but that will just create them to go to the next breeds... GSD's, Dobies..... and labs....
and they will turn even more aggressive.

Did you really just type that?

Statistics? I don't need no stinkin statistics!!
In the 3-year period from 2006 to 2008, pit bull type dogs killed 52 Americans and accounted for 59% of all fatal attacks. Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers accounted for 73% of these deaths. 2011 U.S. Dog Bite Fatalities - Dog Bite Statistics - DogsBite.org
Keep your head in the sand and I'll keep covering you up.The Clifton study of attacks from 1982 through 2006 produced similar results. According to Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes were responsible for 65% of the canine homicides that occurred during a period of 24 years in the USA. (Clifton, Dog attack deaths and maimings, U.S. & Canada, September 1982 to November 13, 2006; click here to read it.) The breeds most likely to kill

About us ::
DogsBite.org is a public education website about dangerous dogs -- primarily pit bull type dogs.1 We are the only website dedicated to putting the safety of humans before dogs, as we are the only source of information on this topic that is not owned, controlled, or funded by pit bull breeders, owners, veterinarian or animal welfare groups.
Results—During 1997 and 1998, at least 27 peopledied of dog bite attacks (18 in 1997 and 9 in 1998). Atleast 25 breeds of dogs have been involved in 238human DBRF during the past 20 years. Pit bull-typedogs and Rottweilers were involved in more than half ofthese deaths. Of 227 reports with relevant data, 55(24%) human deaths involved unrestrained dogs offtheir owners’ property, 133 (58%) involved unrestraineddogs on their owners’ property, 38 (17%) involvedrestrained dogs on their owners’ property, and 1 (<1%)involved a restrained dog off its owner’s property. Conclusions—Although fatal attacks on humansappear to be a breed-specific problem (pit bull-typedogs and Rottweilers), other breeds may bite andcause fatalities at higher rates. Because of difficultiesinherent in determining a dog’s breed with certainty, enforcement of breed-specific ordinances raises con-stitutional and practical issues. Fatal attacks representa small proportion of dog bite injuries to humans and, therefore, should not be the primary factor drivingpublic policy concerning dangerous dogs. Many practi-cal alternatives to breed-specific ordinances exist andhold promise for prevention of dog bites.
