Dumb question - I thought kids were physicaly incapable of intercourse before puberty. But I have read of a trend where many girls are entering puberty sooner. Two causes have been suggested - the natural estrogens in hair care products, and the lack of a father figure which seems to have a biological impact as well as a psychological impact.

uhh..why would it be physically impossible? and lots of girls are in puberty at 11, even started their period- hence able to get pregnant at 11...which i think these girls were, and it makes sense, youre 'supposed' to start 5th at 10 and end being 11..its not some freak type thing, thats very common. now starting at 9 or so is weird but not unheard of.

now, again, why would this be physically impossible if they hadnt been through puberty? i think im lost here. boys get erections from the time theyre in their mothers womb, and girls are born with a hole, its not like it appears at puberty or something.

I dunno about you all , however my stomach was turning and tear started to come down reading this... How can this happen to our society? What has happen to human kind? Where are we going in our future?? Having 2 kids of my own it scares me to know that he will an dis subjected to this kind of behavior.. For those that Don't have kids I don't blame you one bit.. It is becoming impossible to raise kids these days.. I tell you I believe 100% having the government run how we raise or kids is ruining our kids. There are many parents that are afraid to correct their child. They get the whole I'll call the cops thrown in there face!!! I tell you this I whip my kids. They act up they are getting the butt smack..

I tell you I could go on for days... This is heart broken!! To think that kids of that age are capable to engage in such an act...

OH who hear heard about the 2 boys getting busted for Pot in Southern middle school. Yeah and someone who works there said the Principle didn't even call the cops...

not to be rude, but you obviously dont know much about the elementary/middle schools around here if you think this is some sort of isolated incident. now, THATS scary.

I was referring specifically to CONSENSUAL intercourse where both partners enjoyed it. The situation in that classroom was more like rape. How can I put this in a PG-rated thread - I had assumed that on the female's part, the "skids didn't grease" before puberty.

It's possible that the story became wildly exaggerated as it made it way through the school's rumor mill. Remember the urban myth about Bubble Yum and spider's eggs? There was a theory that young boys who liked the gum told that story to impress their friends with their machismo.

We would happily shift this from the "Undetermined" category squarely into the "False" column save for a small handful of <nobr>e-mails</nobr> from youngsters who claim the rumor is on the <nobr>up-and-up</nobr> and that they know someone who did it. Quite possibly, those notes amount to nothing more than "I heard the story from someone I trust, so I want to believe it," but we feel we can't dismiss them out of hand. If, however, there have been some actual instances of sex obligated by bracelet-snap, they have been rare.
