Does he hate it in Iraq or does he hate what he's doing in Iraq? Big difference. My BIL hates Iraq, but believes in what he's doing.

He feels that the only thing we went into Iraq for is to free it's people. He thinks it's the right thing to do but that we shouldn't take the idea of spreading democracy and force it on other people.

I just think there's alot more serious threats out there and for that matter there are regimes that are worse than Saddam was out there. It's hypocritical to be fighting in Iraq for their freedom and to allow the crisis in Sudan to continue on without even addressing it.

Why is it unacceptable for us to "force" democracy on others but it's okay for the likes of Saddam to FORCE their autocratic brutality on others? In the left's ongoing argument against this war, you always seem to leave that part out.

Oh, and BTW, the Sudan is no threat to the US (to use the typical left wing argument against going to war in Iraq).

Does he think they should use their new found freedom to install a new murderous dictator or a repressive religious regime that kills all non-believers?

Hey Andy, you forgot to answer this one.
How can he, he doesn't know.

I've got a better one, baby steps. Battles are given names, just name me a battle, any one, won or lost.

That hasn't stopped him yet! :lmao:
Yeah no kidding.

I can understand being against the war. It's a free country and we're all entitled to our own opinions, but I don't understand not being able to see the reality of this. The reality of what will happen if we leave now.

And if we lose battles, so what, it happens. We lost battles in WWII and we didn't just drop our guns and quit.
