Since JPC is in denial, and doesn't believe that welfare fraud exists and its not prevalent in the welfare system i've taken it upon myself to research a few articles i've found online outlining "welfare fraud." This term, encompasses any form of the fraud, from claiming fake babies, to misuse of an EBT card to simply going back to the most famous one of all, Ronald Reagan's welfare queen.

Seriously JPC, your debate is simply done at this point, not only have you failed to defend your cause but through actual FACTUAL INFORMATION posted through news articles verified by public officials, studies, history etc.... it seems time and time again users of the entire welfare system cannot be trusted with funds. It really starts to make sense, someone who wasn't able to educate themselves to a certain level, function in society, or failed to manage their finances properly to the point where they ended up in the situation they were in, why would you trust that person with large amounts of tax money? In some of these cases, you can clearly see that giving large amounts of tax money to drug users, alcoholics, whatever has clearly been an enabler to their abuse of the substances. One of the links I posted has multiple links of welfare abuses that are all documented of course.

JPC, I know this is hard for you to put together since you haven't had to really work a day in your life. People like myself work for my money, I have a set schedule where I have to go to work to make money. Yes I can do what I want with it but no matter what I want to do with it a certain amount has to go to food since its important to survive. So since I have to spend the money on food and that money was earned through my job, part of the hours I work is going toward food.

Also, just because you think sitting in front of a computer trying to call people racists and bigots because they work for their money and want to see their tax money put toward people who deserve it (and funny enough part of their money goes toward feeding lazy people like yourself), doesn't mean you aren't lazy. What do you do to contribute to society? You get a disability check (which again you could get a job that typing is the job since you show the ability to do so), and just spout your nonsense all day and at the end of the day you contribute nothing to society.

There are people on welfare and food stamps who are truly trying to get themselves up and have a drive to eventually make their own money. I don't mind those people collecting for a short amount of time. However there are a large amount of people on these systems that have no motivation to do anything because they don't need to do anything to survive (like yourself). These people spend majority of their lives taking a lot more from the system than giving to it. They are a drain on society (like youself). They feel they are entitled to it just for being an american.

This system creates a cycle of dependency and can even lead to families having multi generational dependency on these government funds. They don't have to work, they can jsut sit around at home and apply to a few jobs that they have no chance in getting and collect welfare and food stamps.

And unlike yourself I am not so one sided to the argument. I am not blind like yourself and can only see one side. There are driven people who just need a helping hand but they are drowned out by the people who don't need it and abuse the system. Thus a few changes int he program would go a long way. Asking people to work for what they earn is not wrong, its a productive society. Its not too much to ask people who take so much from the community to contribute a little of their time back.

I concede that there are a few people who do try to scam the system, but the vast majority of recipients do not.

In your first or top link it tells of one (1) 61 year old woman who got charged with quote "accepting $2,550 in Home Energy Assistance Program benefits" and that makes her charged with a felony.

She did not buy drugs or booze or run off with a bag of loot - no - she accepted Home Energy assistance as the basis of her crime.

Your second link only adds up the money without telling any circumstances, as they surely they must have caught many other old women accepting home energy assistance too.

Your third link is simply explaining the hate-words thrown at poor women on welfare assistance.

The next link uses your hateful name calling against a woman (one woman) who was trying to use the Public Assistance for her 14 year old son.

The next link about the EBT cards is simply criticizing the card being used for lawful expenditures.

Your last link which you and it are implying the EBT money was used for heroin when in fact the EBT money was only being rightfully and lawfully used to bail himself out of jail.

Years ago, I worked as a pizza delivery driver. My first delivery one day at 11 am was a house in White Sands. The two gentlemen at that residence were smoking crack and playing video games when I arrived with their pizzas. They were so high, they could only talk about how the government paid for their video games, pizza and crack. To my disgust they even invited me in to "party" with them. I graciously declined.

JPC, I do not see churches giving away $10k, $20k or even $30k vehicles. If a family member gives a nice gesture of giving a person a Luxury car to a less fortunate family member, their head needs to be examined. While it nice to have nice things, someone in need should be happy with any vehicle.

No one has once said a family in need does not deserve assistance. However I do not think someone who has a BMW, Lexus, or even Ford riding with a set of $2000 wheels, an excessively loud stereo, and gold teeth is in need of assistance. They are in need of jail time for child abuse.

Then again how can someone understand why people have these issues when they refuse to provide even basic necessities to their own child.

The sky is NOT falling, and if they said as you claim that "the government paid for their video games, pizza and crack" then they might have been meaning that they were both government employees on the gov payroll, which is a more likely way to get enough money to afford those high priced luxuries.

Impossible Federal employees are drug tested. Unlike welfare recipients who have free reign over what narcotics, and other illegal things they use. I guess marijuana and crack are not high priced luxuries when you can get them on someone elses dime.

It seems JPC you can't be persuaded no matter who has told a story, cited a link to an article or written from experience that the system which welfare is based on is flawed. While you are not the posterchild why this system is working, but moreso a representative of why it needs change. Observations have been made that the system needs change and reform to get people motivated to get back on their feet, not sit and collect. The welfare fund is not a retirement fund. The federal government eventually wont have the money to bail out everything and cuts will come. I can guarantee you that the welfare system will be on that chopping block.

I can promise you at some point people will not feel sorry for those who have abused and leeched off of every red cent the feds have handed out. To say that you are so disabled your not able to get a job, or that your so destitute that you cannot contribute to society is ludacris. People who've had their legs blown off in war take office jobs. People who screwed up their lives in highschool often go on eventually to get community college degrees and make something of themselves. Whether its getting a taxi cab driving job or short order cook, true motivated working americans find a way. I see people who join volunteer firehouses where they get free college training and make something of themselves and get hired in paid careers both in fire departments and law enforcement/public safety. Even reformed drug dealers who screwed up a good portion of their life convicted of felonies often reform themselves and go become successful real estate brokers. People in todays society, work 2 jobs and study to better themselves. Most don't ask for or want welfare, they don't want to stoop to that level or join that scam.

Why you ask yourself? Because at some point, people don't want to settle for low class government handouts. They don't want to become comfortable in low income enviroments, they don't want to join the population of individuals who have made unemployment and welfare and social security and disability a self serving career. The only individuals who choose that and don't work hard to better themselves is those who are happy with that handout. Like it or not, its a handout. Its not beneficial. Citizens who work in this country realize that at some point you've gotta starve the beast to bring an end to it. How many people on welfare if given a choice to either upgrade their lives or be cut off with upgrade? My guess is a good portion.

Its gotten to that point. The time is now. If you think this gravy train will run on forever, well keep dreaming. Keep collecting that check on the first of the month and enjoy it while it lasts. Because when the chopping block begins, the working class and upper class will call for its end, or even more restrictions. Too much abuse, too many ethics violations in regards to funds. I will call for its end, like many others. I will not feel sad for those who's handouts have ended. That doesn't make me a racist or bigot. It doesn't make me a hater. Its common sense. The government cannot afford to put everyone on the program, and at this rate cannot afford to keep it going. Just like the money for social security will run out so will the welfare budget. The cuts are coming, the beast is going to be starved or get so big it will not be able to support its own weight and collapse.

If your smart, your going to have to find a way to upgrade your life and existence to one of a self sustaining nature if you intend to survive in tomorrows world. Whether that means get a better education, seek job opportunities in a different region or change your lifestyle, its better to be ahead of the power curve before that axe comes to the welfare program and cuts your livelyhood off.

Many if not most Welfare recipients are single Moms with minor children, and with the ugly Welfare reform mentality the system forces those Moms to leave their children to go get a job just to make the criers happy.
