well .... public locations and newspapers are pretty easy to see. So I guess that's how the ACLU and Westboro know those things =)

I highly doubt you can tell bigot just by looking at someone. I mean sure there my be clues etc., but generally speaking, you can't just look at a guy and say 'oh, he's anti gay, I guess I shouldn't go to his office'.
