Former toeheads........

Lots of kids start out as blondes or towheads, and eventually their hair turns dark. At what age did you (or your childrens) hair start to become darker?

My brother had white-blonde hair until high school, something like 10th grade or so. His son's got a patch of reallllly blonde hair in his bang area, so cute :yay:

My oldest daughter was born with platinum blonde hair, my son was born with black hair. I am a natural blonde, their father had very dark blonde/very light brown hair. My oldest daughter's hair is still blonde, my son's is light brown with blonde highlights.

My youngest daughter's father has almost black hair, however he was a towhead blonde as a child. Our daughter's hair is still blonde, she'll be 4 next month. I would have thought I'd be seeing some color change by now, but it looks like the average age for it to change is around 8 or so. I was sooooo hoping that by her still having blonde hair at 4 it would stay that way.

and as predicted 5 years ago, her hair is now getting darker :bawl: She'll be 9 next month, and it's now a light brown with blonde high lights.

I was white blond until about 5 or 6. Dirty blonde until about 9. Brown since.

Pattern is true also for my son.

That is the pattern I've discovered. I'm sad that she won't continue to be blonde like her sister and I. I was so hoping both my girls would carry my blonde trait.

In my family, the only ones who kept their blond hair were actually born with black hair that fell out and grew back in blond. And by blond I mean of the platinum variety. Weird, isn't it?

My Sister has platinum blonde hair to this day. My Son had the same color until he was about 10 years old, and now it's a medium to dark blonde. I got my platinum blonde hair naturally. :banghead:
