Found Black Cat on Friday the 13th

Found a black cat on Friday the 13th. No joke. I was at a party last night, and this kitten gets inside. We try to shoo her away, and there's even a pup pitbull there, but she didn't want to go. Upon closer inspection, she was pregnant. She also had a bad rash on the inside of her leg that was scratched raw (open).

I was worried about her getting an infection, especially given her current condition. We fed her and held her overnight in one of the guys' rooms with a makeshift litter box.

Took her to All Kinds Vet this morning to get her scanned for a microchip, and checked out. No microchip, nothing. Turns out she's due in about a month for 2-3 kittens. Her combo test came back clear, and we got her a rabies vaccine.

The thing is, she and her kittens need a home now. I'm in touch with SMAWL, but it's the weekend and I wanted get some interest in the girl and her babies.

She is sticky sweet. She slept on my buddy's chest last night, and when he woke up she came down and visited all the couch crashers. She's like my Nacho, purrs like a motorboat.

Would anyone be interested in adopting or fostering her through SMAWL? I made SMAWL aware in the email that she is pregnant, and that I would need help finding homes for them.

Any takers? She has to be out of my friend's house by tomorrow afternoon, his parents own the place and don't allow pets.

I know she'd appreciate it. She's very sweet. SMAWL will probably be able to find a foster for her by the time she has the kittens if it's any help in a decision.

Hi LStar...she did manage to find the right person to look out for her.

If you cannot find any takers by the time she must leave, I can ask my friend who owns a small boarding kennel to take her in while looking for a foster home. Let me know.

Thanks so much! My parents were nice enough to change their mind though. She's staying in my room downstairs away from the boys. I'm not real keen on trying to introduce them seeing as how she's pregnant, and you know how pregnant women can be

Still looking for homes though. If absolutely necessary, I'll see her through the birth and nursing, and let SMAWL keep an ear out for fosters/adopters for the babies when the time comes. Got gloves, a heating pad, old towels, and all that good stuff.

lucky are you going to be h ome during the day so if she gives birth during the day you are there incase there is a problem?

Have gloves, a heating pad, and all that good stuff. Still need to pick up some antiseptic solution and unwaxed dental floss in case I have to take care of an umbilical cord.

It's better than being out in the cold and hungry, but still not the ideal place for her. The boys don't like her, so if you can come up with something that would be great.

Isn't he CUTE? They're from the same litter. I couldn't have been happier working with SouthernMdRocks and Second Hope Rescue. SMAWL is a great organization too, they're who I'm working with to get Friday and her litter homes.
