Maybe. Maybe not. Wouldn't be the first time somebody drove out of the way and dumped an unwanted pet. Besides, it's still early. He may not be missed until everyone gets home from work.

I found an amazing dog about 3 years ago, well trained, so pretty, just the sweetest thing. I did the same thing you are doing. 3 years later I am her proud owner. No one claimed her. ONLY on the couch in the kids playroom. Not my living room couch!
He's well behaved. House trained. Likes the other dogs. Harley does NOT like him though..he's scared to death of him, tucks his tail and tries to get away from it. and Harley is like 60lbs. The cats could care less.
