Seems like most of my fellow service members do not like the area but I like the rural setting. They get bored since they doesn't seem to be any clubs in the area to cater to their needs. I haven't gotten bored sine I'm busy with my house, school and work. Once in a while I take trips to places like DC and Philadelphia if I want to go do something only a big city can provide but I'd rather live in a rural area.

you know what would be nice is a club that is not like the usual clubs I mean loud music crowd dance floor. Drunk people over the place. I think it would be fun to have a place where you can go and have nice wines and smoke cigars. and have more partner dancing. I notice that Ballroom dancing it becoming popular. A place where you can go and relax and be able to talk with good company and good wine. Yes I know to fancy!! The lounge theme. This would be cool especially on the water. Ok I need a loan!!!!!

With Outback, I said it is the only place that I feel is any good. I never said anything about that pace being fine dining. I lived here for over 15 years and cannot stand the places around here. And then I said - I think the food at Mama Lucia ( sp?) was ok!!!! Never said it was the best. I had better and I had worst. I feel that Calvert should have better fine dining. The fine dining that we do have SUCKS! Yes, I do have to go to Annapolis. I love Annapolis. The best place besides the Rams Head Tavern is the Ruth Chris steakhouse. When I go out and spend $100 or more on dinner, I expect it to be a good meal. I want good service along with good food and good wine. That is how I feel. I had a problem with every place in Solomon's and many in ST. Mary's county.
So excuse me for stating my Opinion. I cannot help it that Southern part of Calvert has no good restaurant. Oh, let me add one more thing the service at some of these places stinks too.

How about CD Cafe? They have WONDERFUL food!!

She was just trying to give you recommendations of area restaurants that are considered more elegant than your average Outback steakhouse.

Dry Dock
Old Field Inn
Cafe des Artistes
Brome Howard Inn?

What is the one across the street from Cafe De Artistes??? They are really good too..

edit: Oh, yea.. Nook and Monks! very good!!

:yay: CD Cafe is probably my favorite local restaurant. I love their food and their nightly specials are just spectacular. I got turned onto a lot of different fish dishes because of it. Excellent meals in a beautiful setting, with desserts to DIE for.

No, CD Cafe does not take reservations. Just go a bit earlier than you want to eat and then wait at the lounge in back if you can't get a table right away.
