I think people are proceeding me in a wrong way. Which is fine with me. I really don't care!! It is just that I grew up around my uncle who was a chef. He was a picky bastard. I think I pick up his habits on critizing food and service. Plus, I worked in the industry for over 10 years. So Yes I am hard on places and Yes I am hard on servers. I am my own worst enemy when it come to food. I expect high quality in food and service. If people like BOB does not like it and the other then oh well what do I care.
Oh the point of Las Vegas Is that I was not comparing it to here I was just saying that the place had one of the best meal I ever had!!!!!!! Plus what doe it matter where a place is located at in getting better service and food. So are you say that Las Vegas has a better economy to have " Better Food" and " Better Service" than Solomons??? Are you saying that Solomons dose not have the economy to have better food and better service???
I have to back track what I said About Solomons there is one place I like It is that little Italian place that sits back I forgot about that place. I also Like Stoney's in Brooms Island. I think the one in solomons needs help. The server I had was a airhead. Before any of you go of the deep end on that comment. She was a true airhead.

I think you all misunderstood me from the get go. I have NO PROBLEMS with CALVERT COUNTY!!!!!!! I love it here myself. I just think The food industry could be better. I was not complaining about the entertainment. I was just say it would be nice to provide some for the teens in the area. Yes, I do complain about the food here. I think it does not matter where you live at in the states to get good food and service. I just say I think SoMd could use better dine choices. I do enjoy small individual own restaurant better than chains. Yes I do like some chain restaurant but I rather give my money to smaller places. I just not have seem to find a place that I am crazy about. I would enjoy a cheap but good meal. I would enjoy an expensive but good meal. It does not matter as long as the food and service is good. Why should anyone compromise service and food. You all might like some of the places here. I said this before There are times where a server could ruin my meal. Once I am pissed off my appetite is shot. So Maybe there are places I should give a second chance. I enjoy Calvert. I always had. There are a few new restaurant being built here in Calvert so we could be on our way to having more choices. I rather see a good mom and pop place before a chain. So I am sorry If I somehow offended you all with my opinion! I personally did not think me stating that I did not like something would upset you all that much. Last night I was mad that I was consider that I was whining. When I was not. Like Catamarans I went there once. What I had was ok. It just was the time where they had that hepatitis Scared so I never been back because It scared me. Oh Boomerang does have good ribs, the thing is I only pick up. everytime I gone the service was slow. I would just like to see a nice romantic fine dining place here. Besides the light house inn. Service was good the food Could of been better. ( It could of been what I got). You see it could be that I just get the wrong thing at certain places. I would like to see a awesome deli near by. I mean one where you get big fat sandwiches. I do like for lunch Mom's in the kitchen, and the deli nest to KFC in PF.
Now someone told me that the frying is a good place to have lunch. Is this true.

That's the problem the come-heres have: they enjoy the peaceful setting, with the boating and crabbing, but they want to bring their big city restaurants and entertainment venues with them. This is not Manhattan - this is southern Maryland. Run up to DC or Baltimore for your entertainment and quit complaining.

I don't think we agree often but I think we're pretty much on the same page here.

Yes, Las Vegas has a service based economy, which means it depends on good service. Gambling isn't the only reason people go to Vegas. If the service is bad they may go elsewhere. The city caters to tourists. I grew up partially in Orlando another service economy city. Do you think people would go to Walt Disney World if Mickey and Minnie told kids to F**k off regularly if they misbehaved? Here in St Mary's and southern Calvert it's military based economy. People who goes to these restaurants live here and are pretty much stuck with the bad service or good.

One little thing I'd like to add to this. Universities in serviced oriented areas often have many students majoring in either Hospitality industries or hotel & restaurant management/ownership. They usually have the other as a minor. These people end up running the big resort restaurants. Also in Orlando many of us at an early age learned to smile even when we felt like choking the bastard tourists since majority of us ended working at Disney/Sea World/Universal Studios for our part time jobs.

I love how isolated we are here and cringe everytime I see a new chain restaurant, CVS, or gas station go up!!!!! I never would have thought 20 yrs ago when we first moved in the northern part of St. Mary's how much it has grown - ouch! Had to drive to Waldorf to get to a McDonalds or Leonardtown for Hardees! Don't care much for "fine dining", I'd rather throw a couple of steaks on the grill.
